The reason is the playrate and how well those players are doing.

Ryze is pretty hard and doesn't perform too well, if you get really fed on him you easily perform above average and thus get a higher grade than you would on a more popular champion that might even average a higher score etc.

that stupid so if i go play urgot and get 3 kills should i then get s? - sry im just pissed

i get that if u play some one support or play a support character you should get higher ranks but that is a huge diffrence

Because you're being compared to other MF players and he's being compared to other Ryze players. MF's kit (particularly her Ultimate) makes it a whole lot easier to get a ton of Kills/Assists than Ryze's kit.

so you are saying that i didnt have enought kills and assisst? - i get that it compare me with other mf players. But i thought deaths weights a lot more.. so i should've ran out and died before i had 10k gold? so i could buy and get more dmg?

It's ARAM, so S grades in general are going to be a bit wonky, but you could be right about the damage dealt being too low. Maybe an earlier death would have helped you buy sooner and deal out damage comparable to other MFs.

yeah, it's true but i still think it's stupid when i had the highest damage :) - thank you for your time and effort:)

It's not a matter of too few kills and assists. You had plenty of those, and definitely a high enough kill participation, too. Honestly, it's probably more to do with CS than anything. While I realize it's ARAM, CS still makes a difference, and still matters in grades. (Note that ARAM does have a separate grading scale than SR does).

So your kills, deaths, and assists were certainly all exceptional. But your CS was just middle of the road. There are enough MF players in ARAM getting exceptional scorelines while also getting quite a bit more CS, that it makes this performance not quite exceptional overall.

Separate issue: If you have more than 2.5-3k gold, just suck it up and die so you can buy. Any kills you get are meaningless to your team's lead until you've actually shopped. IMO, a 14/3/32 scoreline would have been a better performance than 14/1/32, because you'll have had a higher contribution through the entire game. And maybe with more damage earlier on, you'd have been able to actually get more of that CS and pull out an S.

i understand your point but i just think it's stupid that i have go and die to get better rank when it's bassicly intentional "feeding" or dieing. - nvm i don't think i'll understand it truely, thank you for your time tho :)

It's not having to go and die to get a better grade. Getting to shop 1-2 more times, especially earlier on, would have just made it a lot easier for you to be the one clearing the minions, rather than them getting eaten up by your teammates who had actually shopped. If you had been able to last hit all those minions without going back and shopping, you could probably have had the S, too.

My general point stands, though. Ideally, you'd manage to find an opening to deny to a tower. But that's not easy (especially after they upped the timer to 20 seconds). Also, if you can use yourself as bait to at least let your team pick up a couple kills for your death, that's awesome. If those aren't options, it's fine to just walk it in and die. We've all done it. Send a caution ping or type "need to buy" to your team, and they'll understand what you're doing and (hopefully) won't follow into a bad fight.

I only emphasize all this because I have most certainly lost more than a few arams simply because a teammate had taken a good chunk of our kills early but refuses to go spend that money until it's too late.

Obviously grading in ARAM is going to be wonky.
