It is absolute BS that yasuo can block nami's ult

Aslan Sala··94 votes·8,138 views

I am so pissed off after playing a game vs yasuo as nami. My kit was rendered almost completely useless because every single time i ulted, he would just block it like I was nothing- and I would get a full ult CD. This was the most un-fun game I have ever played. I am extremely f*** unhappy.

+1, your wave should combine with his windwall to make a hurricane that sucks everyone up and moves across the map until it has eaten every teemo

This is why you don't put a top-tier utility spell on a hypercarry assassin.

As fun as it is to see your Yas pull a clutch windwall, poor design is poor design.

DrCyanide28 votes

"Clutch windwall" - when it can be pointed completely backwards and still work fine, forgive me for being less impressed.

I'm a much bigger fan of how Braum's shield was designed. He's punished if he messes up, he can't completely negate everything in the world (still takes the CC to his own face), but it's extremely useful.

Joe Dredd4 votes

Braums shield can be used twice as often, and even more because he can itemize cdr.

Braum's shield actually needs to be placed properly.

And thats hard...

DrCyanide1 votes

Never said it was hard, but when a Braum misclicks or is attacked from two directions at once he's punished for it.

On the flip side, Yasuo isn't.

Joe Dredd2 votes

and braum cant misclick. The shield automatically aims.

DrCyanide6 votes

You manually aim it.

AutoreactiveCD48 votes

This is something that I've always seen as a giant middle finger to Braum and people's intelligence. Riot went out of their way to describe how awesome Braum's wall was and how he had to give up power in other parts of his kit so that it would be fair to play against. He can't have damage he shouldn't be a solo laner all that....You JUST released Yasuo and described his wall's ability to help his team "added bonus".

Braum has to even put points into it to last as long as yasuo's at rank 1.

iLuma2 votes

The thing about Braum is he still takes damage while his shield is up, kind of like Alistar ult. I would be a fan if they still get hit, just not knocked up as long or something. I dunno.

Yasuo windwall can literally be thrown sideways and completely perpendicular to Nami's wave. Even if only the right corner of the wave hits the right corner of the perpendicular wall, the entire ult is negated. As a lover of playing Nami, this drives me insaaaaaane.

doombotMECHA6 votes

windwall is an ult. that some idiot gave yasuo as his w. it's as bad as back when tf had his teleport on e.

Anidan2 votes

To be fair, TF ult as a normal ability worked on Nature's Prophet in DotA!

Except NP didn't have a hard CC.. and sort of extremely long-range harass.. extra gold gain just for existing... an Attack Speed/CDR steroid...

How did Riot think that was a good idea to port Nature's Prophet and then fill up every single weakness NP had?

windwolf7772 votes

Except NP didn't have a hard CC. ...extremely long-range harass

He kinda is balanced around that by being able to farm in about 10000 places at once with his ult. Plus the no cc weakness can be made up for in items. (Sheep stick for polimorph, orchid silence, eul's banishment, desolator plus or instead of crit killing) And also, his auto attack range is freaking huge. It's in the top 6. (5 if you don't include techies which you honestly shouldn't for right clicking)

Anidan2 votes

His AA range is 600, which puts him on the upper end of the "average" scale for ranged AAs. The only people that attack farther are Oracle at 620, Drow Ranger and Arc Warden (NYI) at 625, Clinkz at 630, and Lina at 670 (if we're not including Techies' 700), as well as Enchantress with Aghanim's at 740 range. While he shares the 600 range with Ancient Apparition, Chen, Crystal Maiden, Death Prophet, Disruptor, Invoker, KotL, Leshrac, Lion, Medusa, Mirana, Pugna, Rubick, Silencer, Skywrath, Visage, Warlock, Windranger and Witch Doctor.

And I simply mean the no hard cc to mean baseline in his kit, sorry about that. Sheepstick and/or Orchid are great items on him to cover up that weakness, since he can farm really quickly and tends to get it before most other heroes can, making him a good early/mid-game duelist. But yeah, based on the mechanics of the game, his kit and how the game is balanced, the teleport being a non-ultimate on Nature's Prophet works. It didn't work at all on Twisted Fate thanks to the difference in kit, game mechanics and game balance.

windwolf7772 votes

Yeah I knew that he had great range I just didn't think it was worth mentioning but now that you bring it into the equation you're right. You also forgot to mention sniper increasing it with his skill at 950 maxed. :).

(I can't think of a non asshole way to say this. I legit don't mean to come across as one.). And yup. Glad that we agree on the farming quickly._ (Like I said, I can't think of a non rude sounding way of saying that. Just know that I honestly didn't mean anything in my phrasing.)_

Terribly sorry about the misunderstanding about the base kit part. When you said he didn't have hard CC, I should've just assumed you meant base kit and left it at that.

Btw, when you said "NYI" I'm guessing you meant "not yet in" correct?

Anidan2 votes

Yeah, that or "Not Yet Implemented", it means the same thing, so use what you prefer. :) Arc Warden isn't in DotA2 yet, and neither is Abyssal Underlord at the moment, but both are being worked on. And yeah, that's my bad on the misunderstanding part, I should've clarified that I was referring to his base kit, I'm sorry about that. And we can definitely agree on the farming, since that's what his teleport helps him to do, besides be there for ganks with allies and split-push :D

And how did I forget Sniper's range? Somehow things like that just kinda slip through in my mind. Good catch, though.

windwolf7771 votes

Believe me mate, I play WAY more dota than I do league. I usually play agi carries so I am SO EXCITED to play Arc Warden. (I wonder which will farm faster, Alchemist with BF/Miadus, or Arc Warden with Miadus and split pushing.) Abyssal Underlord meh. (Although I do love gimmicks so I'm going to love his ulti).

Anidan2 votes

Arc Warden is going to be so damn annoying to play against. It's gonna be so freaking awesome!

I now wonder the same about Alchemist and Arc Warden o.o Isn't Naga the current ricing queen, though? Would be interesting to see an Arc Warden and an Alchemist's comparative GPM, though, I'll say that. Also, agi carries 4 lyfe! :D

Yasou is just plain cancer. The guy has TWO great passives, a windwall that is better than 90% of the ults in the game, unlimited dashes with AoE damage if minions are near, ranged CC, and an ult that ignores 50% of your armor and can be set up by any champion with a knockup. I bet he has a 90% win rate if there is a Malphite or Alistar on his team. He needs reworked SO bad.

Anidan4 votes

Us Fizz players tend to say it, too.

Though, to be honest: with all sorts of nerfs flying around these days his laning phase is just fine. Vayne's would be crap too if everyone around her didn't get repeatedly nerfed.

Someone like a well-played Graves + aggressive support should be enough to make sure Vayne doesn't get to do much for a long, long time. She can't duel Graves early on unless her support is just that much better than Graves'.

Yas does really well when a team is built around him. . . . Most champs do.

Yas has issues (being overloaded is chief among them). But he's been nerfed hard enough he's really not that strong [any more]. Kinda like the Nidalee problem. But a tad less extreme.

Mecha MaIphite1 votes

Except his E has no AoE damage attached to it.

Additionally, each cast can be used during Sweeping Blade to change the area of effect to a circle around Yasuo. It does when combo'd with Q.

Don't use your ult unless you know his wall is on cooldown, or just save your ult for someone else. Why would you keep wasting it on him?

When it comes to feast or famine champions he's one of the most picked, but he's one of the least powerful early game. That's dangerous for those types of champions.

It's very easy to push him over into famine mode. He'll most likely be played mid lane, because a lot of top laners can wreck him, and that is the lane that usually gets ganked a lot early.

He needs to be reworked, but not because he's OP. He's really not that amazing, and that's a shame because so many people love his design but hate his gameplay. With Fiora's rework a success, I would like to see him or any of the other feast or famine champions picked for a rework next. It would be interesting to see where they went with it.

There are many champions that need reworking before him... Also Fiora's rework is just another overloaded kit.

The majority of people disagree with you, but I really don't want to get into that. The changes to Fiora were received pretty positively overall, but you're never ever going to make everyone happy.

As for Yasuo, I wasn't saying other champions didn't also need reworks, just that he could use one in the future.

The new Fiora has AOE heal and stun. This may solve her "problems", but makes 0 sense for a fencer.

AoE heal -

Her ultimate, how I see it, is basically Fiora calling her shot. Like an expert pool player calling "8 ball, corner pocket", Fiora is pointing out one target and saying, "See that? Watch me kill it. I dare you to stop me." Which, from the perspective of a skilled duelist, works for me. Then the AoE heal - a mechanical translation of the kind of second wind, the inspiration and bravado that comes from watching your teammate do exactly that. When talking about the Ult one of the Rioters said something like, "One she gets a kill it says, Alright, who's next?" because you heal up your whole team to keep fighting.

Works for me.

An AoE heal that will never go off without a ton of CC from her team.

Fiora instakills the support or the midlaner with her combo + ult and her team heals.

Supports have more than enough CC to peel her off and get her blown up. She can't instakill anyone unless she's fed.

well...you get the idea. I'm not gonna do this for every champion

Ariel the Cruel3 votes

Annie really? She has a half second burst combo that starts with a stun. That match-up is pretty much "whoever gets hit first loses".

Old Man Teeto7 votes

Braum and Yasuo are pretty strong against Nami's mid/late game.

However, you don't have to use it to initiate, you can wait and use it as a form of peel so it's harder for them to block mid-fight.

Nameless Voice6 votes

I also hate that it blocks Nami and Soraka's Qs, which makes no sense since they clearly go over it.

This is annoying because at one point I believe the devs said that artillery was supposed to go over the windwall.

I totally know your feel, bro. Yasuo's kit is just overloaded, I mean:

-Barrier passive for moving -Double crit chance passive (reduced damage in crits, but at the end of the day you can have almost 100%crit chance with 2 items)

Right now think about Zilean , who has a +8% more experience to nearby allies as passive (less useful every minute till it's totally useless)

-Ranged auto with a low cooldown and a knockup after a few uses that can also critically strike (reduced damage, but its damage can still be multiplied and has a 100% AD scaling) -Tons of mobility -An ability that can block ranged autoatacks and lots of abilities, even ultimates that have way bigger cooldowns, and that's just another basic ability. -A cc lockdown with aoe damage with a 150%AD scaling that also let him ignore 50% of his targets armor.

This kit offers just way too much. Of course Yasuo can be countered, and I'm not saying he is OP at the moment, but as long as he has an overloaded kit every little change can potentially make him OP, so he will always be damn hard to balance, just as Elise Nidalee
