how can matchmaking be so bad?

so i decided to play a game of summoners rift just now just for somethign different. i have been leveling up purely in aram and havent done a SR for at least a few months. i take support because i know im going ot be rusty.

this is what matchmaking puts me up against -

top - diamond 4 mid - plat 5 jg - plat 4 sup - gold 5 adc - plat 5

notice i am level 27 with 17 total wins in summoners rift, none within the last few months. i was solo queue. how is this possible?

after i gave up first blood and a couple more kills some of my teammates said they were reporting me. when i said i was lvl 27 and not very good they tried to convince the other team to report me as well even though i ended up doing not worse than some of them. how can this happen?

Well, normal MMR and Ranked is completely different. So in theory, you could go up against a challenger who hasn't played normals since they hit level 30, and you could be in bronze.

I agree its really bad, but thats what you get with an MMR system instead of rank/level system.

they all had hundreds of wins in normals :(

i think they need to check on their system. somethign is going haywire!

Well Rip.

I was just point out though, Of course it broken. I mean, I go up against diamonds in Plats all the time, but I have a lot more experience than a newer player. They really need to work on that for next season. Otherwise, new players won't want to play.

yeah im going to stick to arams for a while haha. that wasnt fun

Well I get wanting to play Arams to level, but on the downside, if you ever want to get into ranked, Normals are going to benefit you a lot more than Arams.

Im not saying its gonna go well but thats just the reality there might not have been a lot of lower leveled playing at that time. At any rate playing against high leveled people is a great way to learn, i suggest using it as an opportunity to improve on what you can.

maybe you are right. at least couldnt they have put me against bronzes though? i mean how good do they think i am to put a lvl 27 with almost no runes against platinums? it seems like it must be some kind of bug.

Its possibly they just couldnt find the bronzes and just decided to put you with what they could find. Queing by yourself can often times make you more valuable since theres a lot of groups of 4 so its possible you got stuck agaisnt a high group of players cause you were by yourself and they were all together and the game needed a 1 man que but they couldnt find anything closer at the time.

Game puts all low levels that are near 30 against plat players unless you have a match history full of feeding on Summoner's Rift. Every time I have leveled a new account I find myself playing against high diamond players, nothing too out of the ordinary to be honest.
