lol You're not unstoppable against any top laner with half a brain or rudimentary understanding of Riven. She has to play safe against most bruisers and tanks before level 6 if they're somewhat decent at avoiding her Q's. If a Riven player can harass you, you've lost. However, if a Riven player can't harass you, but you can harass Riven, beat her down before lv 6. Also, Riven is squishy at all levels. She has to be able to 100-0 you in small timeframe, it's simply not in her kit to do that without at least getting a Brutalizer first. Keep tabs on her build when she backs to know when to expect powerspikes, because if you don't check ahead of time, you'll find out at the respawn timer. Likewise, she still cant 100-0 tanks until she gets a few more items which means she's WIDE OPEN -all-in her, you WILL WIN. The initial burst made give you a heart attack, but her power drops dramatically when her abilities are on CD, the E CD was probably burned going in as well which means she has no escape (this is the case against most nubs who think you can faceroll Riven and win. Smart Riven players, with Poke with Q, stun with W, and E away to safety. This still only works if you let them though. She is stoppable.) Olaf exemplifies this tactic as he gets his powerspike when Riven loses hers and since you can build primarily defensive with Olaf, she's extremely unlikely to nuke you in one combo assuming you're keeping up with her. Nasus fares quite well as well. Remember, Riven has no sustain, if you have sustain AND defense, you'll push her out of lane via attrition. There's nothing she can do. If you smack her down hard enough when she tries to burst you and you get away, stay in lane and farm till your health comes back. Riven will have to wait for ult to instaburst you if you got some good damage on her. By that point, your health is back at full and she's no closer to stopping now than she was then. Riven is NOT some unholy reckoning of toplane. She's quite balanced. Learn the champ and beat her. She's not a laning nightmare like Zed, Fizz, or pre-nerf gods like Jax, Kayle, and Yasuo. Play against someone above bronze or silver in toplane with her, you'll find her faults REAL quick.

Lol they nerfed Nidalee for having too short CDR's, at least Riven has shorter CDR's and double cc with a shield + AOE damage. She is not played that much competitively however so that may be a reasoning behind her dodging a nerf and deep throating Sona so hard she couldn't speak anymore.

As a riven main myself, i have fun playing against riven when they take her and playing things she is supposed to counter, like nasus and shitting on them because 99% of bronze/silver riven players are trash/do not know how to AA cancel or out play at all. Riven does have counter play tbh, when she Q's in toward you walk back so you will only be hit by the last q, harras her because she is probably standing in YOUR minions at this point. Riven doesn't have many counters, but the one's she does have are hard counters ex. (more of a skill match up for the riven player, because all darius has to do is stand there)

There have been many Rivens who have needed to remove all the Scythes, Exoskeleton debris, Chainsaws , and missile fragments from their face.

All the Riven players are triggered now. But yeah, she's a difficult champ because she's basically useless unless you can perform her animation cancels. She's no one button kill champ like LB or Tryndaddy

All the butturt Riven players down-voting. They'll swear they only play her for her style until she gets nerfed then pick up the next flavor of the month unstoppable character and claim it was secretly their favorite... Until it gets nerfed and they will pick up the next unstoppable god of that month as well. They will swear the huge power advantage has nothing at all to do with their choices, All along down-voting everyone who says their crutch is to strong at the moment.
