a lot of people have been saying ''the game has gone to shit'' but i personal really enjoy league (maybe thats because i dont really care about the meta or balance changes idk) but i just made this post to say thank u riot for making this game and also the spread some positive vibes [sg-ahri-2]
I agree that League is still enjoyable in certain aspects, but their blue essence system sucks. Instead of earning for playing every game like the old IP system, you earn it once every 20 hours. Even if you earn daily, it is only 50 blue essence, which would take 9 days just to buy the cheapest champion in the shop (which is 450 BE).
"oh but wait-- don't you get champion shards which gives you 50% off of what you would spend blue essence in the shop?"
I got 2 big reasons why champion shards are no excuse for removing the old earning system:
you get a shard each time your account levels up, and the rate of leveling up can be one per day if you play a couple of games per day or over 40 games per day. it can take a long time.
if you do manage to get champion shards in a short amount of time, good job. However, rewards are unreliable and not fair. face the fact that you are more likely to get seven 450 BE champion shards in a row than a single 6300 BE champion shard (I have 7 singed shards plus 5 spent on level 7 mastery Singed and the only 6300 shard I got was Zed, which I already had). I believe it is how Rito programmers implement a lower chance for big rewards.

The game was definitely better in prior seasons, but it is by no means dying or bad now. I still have plenty of fun playing even though I don't have as much time to play anymore.

I used to be like you. I'd roll with the punches and try my best to adapt to the changes no matter how big. But Riot just really pissed me off this season with their seemingly overnight and over the top jungle change.
I was all, 'I know you get a lot of shit for doing what you do, but I'd like to be the one to say thanks, riot!'
But then Riot ruined one of the roles I first learned how to play. It was one of the first I learned because I tried my hand at ranked before the pick/ban system we have these days. In past seasons, its was role goes to the first pick and the last 2 players got the leftovers.
And this was during a time in which jungle was as unpopular a role as support, but I preferred it over supporting; so, more often than not, I'd land jungle. After a while, jungle was almost all I ever did.
Since then, I've learned that every season, Riot feels compelled to change the jungle. Most of the changes have been interesting and fun. But there's been two that no one, not even me, could get behind. And this last one really takes the cake on the worst possible jungle changes.
Riot ruined a major part of what makes this game fun for me.
So no, I cannot get behind the 'GJ, Riot!' mentality right now. Not until they undo the jungle changes, admit they fucked up, and apologize for it.
I'll be drinking hot cocoa in a frozen hell when and if that happens.
My single biggest problem with LoL is the matchmaking system for SoloQ, followed by the general community and how Riot handle them (as a combined issue; the latter has certainly fed into the former); the game itself I quite enjoy (I'd tweak balance some, but wouldn't we all...).
I think there a massive amount about the game that is great. I do love it, but I also love my wife and kids, that doesn't mean they don't frustrate me sometimes xD
