Another AP armor item for mages?
Currently the only armor item that gives ap(for mages) is 
so y not add another item with less ap and some armor so that mages have more than i item that helps with dmg and protection from physical dmg

Couldn't you just get another zhonya's?
That would be a good idea, but then they might stack zhonya's and that new item against mostly AD teams and then they would be tanky and bursty with a 2.5 second invulnerability.
If you want more damage, build damage. If you want to build more defenses, build defenses. Too many armor/AP items will make mages tanky against AD champions without much of a cost. Even some adc's build
