[Gameplay] Smart pings - Alert pings don't have a chat message.
Greetings, people.
I'm here to discuss something that has been bothering me lately. I don't know If someone else posted something related to this issue, but after searching for some time, I couldn't find anything.
The thing is: the "Alert ping" doesn't give you information related to which player was the who made said ping. Normally, the other smart pings give you a message in the chat similar to this: "[Player name] ([Champion name]) signals that enemies are missing." Nothing wrong there. But, when someone makes an alert ping, there is no message at all. Is there a special reason for it to be like this? If not, then, why is it the only ping without a message? Now, this could be seen as something unimportant. But let me remind you people, something that has been bothering us all since years: THE PING SPAM. Sure, now we have the "mute ping" function, which I personally found it as a bliss when it first came out. But we usually mute people that WE ACTUALLY KNOW are spamming pings.
So, without further ado, here is my problem: How do we mute a spammer if WE DON'T KNOW how to recognize him?
It can be seen as something simple, but at the same time is not. There are some sneaky and cowardly players who will spam alert pings to you just for the sake of annoying others in secret. And the only thing we can do against this? Mute all pings, which will affect our communication with the players who really want to cooperate. So, please Riot, give us the information we need so toxic players don't make abuse of this flaw.
