Champions to learn TOP lane with?

I'm a silver 3 support main and want to learn another role, since it's almost impossible to climb and carry a game from support with no one listening to instructions and people running around the rift for 30+ minutes ignoring objectives playing ARAM and had a really bad wrap this season. So I was thinking top lane may be a good lane to learn since you can do respectable damage, still tank some hits and influence a game more directly.

So what are some forgiving, decent, all round top lane champions to LEARN the role with? I like playing Tryndamere since I can push objectives quite fast and still win skirmishes quite easily when caught out.

Here is a list of all the "top lane" champions I have. I also have about 5k IP to spend if needed.

Garen Gnar Tryndamere Nasus Yasuo Gangplank Irelia Illaoi Jax Malphite Shen Poppy Nautilus Maokai Singed Tahm Kench and of course the god himself......TEEMO.

and a whole bunch that I'm not too sure can be played top lane or are just COMPLETELY out of meta.

Get Sion. Play him both top and support. Climb.

i recommend jax for a learning champ. you'll quickly realize when you can go in vs when you should back off as he has clear power spikes and advantageous situations.

gnar and tryn are also good starters, you'll realize what gets you killed soon enough. (which are basically claps 2v1's)

later on you can move onto the more advanced champs like bankplank, singed, cho, yasuo, irelia, riven etc.

obvious answer to me is garen, he's easy to play and counters some of the more popular picks like riven

edit: oh you're silver 3... learning? pfft ok nvm

As a fellow support main who plays Top as my second pick I hear you. It depends on your playstyle. Looking at your op.gg, I notice a lot of mages so it might be good to try learning more:

Gangplank Gnar Vladimir or Kennen Jayce

If you're however trying to branch out into something more tank like:

Poppy Trundle Maokai

Or if you're looking at more team oriented play tank champs:

Shen Nautilus TahmKench

The good thing about tanks in top lane is that they can usually also be played in the support role giving you more freedom when practicing their mechanics. But ultimately it comes down to what exactly you're more interested in; tanking or carrying

I learned the basic of the role with Garen. Mainly because I didn't have to worry much abut learning his kit as well as the role in one go. He has a strong early so unless you are ranged is also quite hard to punish garen mistakes.

Poppy is another good option to learn the role. She is very forgiving with her ult whenever she messes up and can scale to decent levels.

Yorick this guy is a monster on silver and bronze since people have no clue how to deal with him. His early is his weakest point but very few people take advantage of it,letting him scale into mid game where we can pretty much duel anyone if his ult is up (2v1 if ahead). Late game you either push on your own or group up whenever ult is up (the mini rift herald does wonders). Also....taking rift herald and using it with your own ult can devastate a lane easily.

If you wanna learn then start with easy top champs.

U're wrong. There's no such thing as easy champs... Even Garen, Malphite have their intricacies... So pls just go ahead and familiarize with the "hard to play" champs... they're not that hard
