ARAM Requirements for S- or greater

I created an account two weeks ago, so I'm new to this game. I've heard that you can get chests by getting an "S" in the game, which is earned by doing exceptionally well. I'm not sure how well you have to do, but is this ARAM game not deserving of S? I may be mistaken, though.

I just carried HARD in ARAM as sona no less .. I didn't die for the first 20 minutes, then only died twice. assisted in literally every kill, and healed/mobilised like a mofo. cc'd, kept my team live, helped them dodge crap .. move to healing etc.. and .. yeah not even an S-. if CS is a factor then that is .. quite frankly, retarded as hell.

S grades (and all grades), are based on your percentile performance compared to all other players on the same champ.

I suspect there since you only died once (and hence didn't get to buy much), many of your combat stats were actually pretty low despite the exceptional kda. It's often worth it to execute sometimes in aram, just so you can get the big item spikes.

Also cs, although cs standards in aram are pretty low.

Thanks for the input. However, I had the highest damage dealt to champions, the second highest damage dealt overall (behind the opposing Twisted Fate), and the highest gold earned. I have also earned an S+ before going 22/4/12 on Malphite, and having lackluster stats overall. Could it possibly be because Tristana's an ADC, and Riot expects ADC's to all be godly and have twice the KDA of everyone else? Or is that not the case?

Here is another case of an A+ that should've been an S: http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2562182178/238942277?tab=overview

All other players on the same champ, not all other players in your game. If everyone on the team is outputting relatively low numbers, being better than them doesn't mean your numbers were high, and besides that their numbers don't matter since they're on different champs.

Riot isn't dictating any of the requirements though, it's all just relative to the performances players are actually getting. If every trist in aram was averages a score of 0/10/5 with 10 cs, you could get an S with a 1/2/5 score and 20 cs probably.

I agree, but apparently S is like top 5% of people that play that same champ in the same role. I really don't think 1 in 20 people who play this champion in ARAM go 30/1/30 or something like that.

Yeah, but theres lots more to it than KDA. You may have twice the KDA of most trist players, but if you have half the damage then you're not necessarily better than most ARAM trist players and things could sorta average out to being a more average grade (although I expect you did get an A+ so you were certainly close).

Various other potential factors too, but I mean, if you didn't get an S, it's probably due to overweighting one factor and overlooking another area where you may have done meh, and not due to the system bugging out or some such.

not enough cs. why cs is graded in ARAM is an odd decision in of itself.

Just got an S- on Zil in an ARAM. 5/6/39 Never seen a negative k/d get an S- before Had me curious as to what exactly is the criteria for an S.
