Riot, Voice Chat?..

Riot, riot, riot.. I want voice chat so bad! Overwatch and CSGO are the most famous teambased game after League, and they both have voice chat, a system that has worked well and is very appreciated by a big part of the community. It's something that makes the experience so much more fun for a lot of players. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs] It also makes the communication between players a lot better! It would make League of Legends feel even more like a teamwork game. I know that you already have pings but sometimes the pings won't help because you have your attention elsewhere, then It's better having a voice telling you that you're being ganked. It would help you and save you from so many situations, making your gameplay better.. [vayne-pose] But if you're worried that it will just be a problem, people will misbehave and annoying people and muting wont make the communication better then just use a report system like the other games, i mean come on atleast give it a try at PBE? [zombie-nunu-tears]

Thank you for your time. [slayer-jinx-catface]

There are serious cons to voicechat that don't seem to obvious until it actually happens.

It will make the game incredibly less fun, I guarantee that.

To go into more detail on this...you say it will make your gameplay better, but it won't be your gameplay, it will be you following orders from someone like a sheep, or suffer the consequences of refusing to do so.

Sorry, but I don't want someone intruding my convo with my friends or having some toxic asshole yelling in my ear that 100% won't get banned because IFS can't detect it. Muting doesn't help either as then what is the point of having global voice chat? Also csgo and overwatch voice comms are almost never toxic.

You know they implemented voice chat for parties already right? Like... you have voice chat available through League if you don't want to use discord or wtvr

I think there's a case to be made about being given the chance to opt out of voice comms instead of not having the option at all, unless you're in a party.

There are times when you're going to be playing solo and matched against a party its only fair that you should have the tools to play as a team better even if you choose to opt out then at least you had a chance to do so.

"But then people will have to join voice comms or be dismantled by an opposing party!"

Well it's going to happen anyways, its not like when you pop into solo q you're never going to go up against a duo'd bot lane. Or if you que up for flex with 2 or 3 people face a premade 5 and proceed to get slaughtered. At least this way you have a way to communicate instead of not having the option at all.
