So, I'm not able to play a ton of LOL, but I really enjoy it when I can. I can play all roles, and enjoy learning and getting better at each position. Unfortunately, I'm not totally able to keep up with new meta's and all that, so I was hoping I could get some ideas from you guys, as to who is a good top laner All AROUND. Not for each season, but just some of your favorites, who you think are consistently strong and worth playing. Thanks :)
Renekton seems to always be up there as a lane bully and one whose pretty hard to lose lane as unless you get completely countered.
I would probably recommend:
They are pretty much always viable, even if they aren't meta at that point in time.
A couple can be match-up dependent, but they typically have the tools they need to survive in any lane or team adequately.
Honestly, top lane is an isolated little place. Play nasus, get stacks, go to enemy nexus, one shot nexus. leave. Gnar Nasus Anybody off meta pick Dankplank (Ap gangplank) TONS of damage .-.
I play Irelia, Fiora, Olaf, Diana, and Riven. I would recommend you to try Irelia and Olaf. They're more consistent champions for people who aren't playing the game as much as others. If you had the time, I would say try the other because they require some practice on.
renekton can win lane against any match-up, nasus being the hardest imo. (which even makes sense lore wise)
zac is also very surprisingly strong top and wins every matchup, malphite and nasus being hardest imo.
Olaf is pretty much unstoppable and fun af, Darius is hilarious if you know what you're doing, Gnar is the best top laner (imo) IF MASTERED, Jax is Freelo, Ryze is for midlaners who get stuck playing top, Yasuo is difficult at first, then easy, Garen is easy to learn, Renekton is very forgiving, Mundo is really really strong this patch, Shen is good at teaching you Map Awareness and helps you be more of a team player, I never really liked Malphite, but he's really good against certain team comps, Trundle is an unkillable little shit this patch, Gangplank is fun, Tahm Kench is so much fun to troll with, Quinn is for ADC players who get stuck top lane, (you must always scream "IM A BIRD" whenever you go in to get a kill, this is mandatory) Pantheon is really fun, Fiora's difficult to learn, but almost unstoppable if mastered, Wukong is fun, Rengar is actually a lot better top than people give him credit for, Sion is a train of pain, nuff said, Lulu is another mage toplaner who's actually really insane, Nautilus is tanky as hell while still having some of the most CC in the game, Nasus is amazing late game and also teaches you to CS, and Volibear is strong this patch as well, being very difficult to kill and also dealing craploads of damage. There are more than just these, but this is what I had off the top of my head.
