  1. Just mute everyone - theyre shit anyway, and they have to find someone to blame.

  1. Being an OTP isn't a bad thing - but if you want to learn more champions, definitely play them in normal and get a feel for them before playing them in ranked. DO NOT play a champ in ranked without being at least Mastery 4, or someone's going to insta-tilt on your team and throw the game regardless of if you do well or not just from looking at that in loadscreen.

  1. Finding a main in at least two roles is essential. Personally, I have multiple mains in my two preferred roles, and I'm at least comfortable with almost any mage or enchanter support (my primary) and about 50% of adcs (my secondary)

  1. Personally, I'd say try to find champions who can fit multiple roles so that if you get autofilled, you still have options.

For example: As I said earlier, I essentially main both halves of bot lane. However, if I'm autofilled, I still have a variety of flex pick options that work in my off-roles that I have plenty of experience playing in the bot lane. If I'm sent top, I can play Lissandra, Lulu, Kench, or Zac fairly well, and I play all of those champions as support, so i'm not trying to learn how to land combos, more than I'm just switching my focus to "take all the cs, my adc isn't here!" I can also play Quinn, Vayne, Jayce and Gnar from playing a lot of marksmen. Same with mid - I can take Lissandra, Brand, Morg, Ez, Caitlyn...this is a personal stretch from her being my best champ, but I can even take NAMI in some matchups. (She's actually pretty decent mid lane against certain people as long as you can dodge their skillshots - particularly immobile mages like Lux, Brand and Xerath. it will NOT work on Syndra or Malzahar though...Syndra's busted and doesn't even need to land her kit to just stuff her balls down your throat, and Malz pushes way too hard) And same with jungle - I can play Ivern, Twitch, Fiddlesticks, Rakan, and Quinn. (I prefer not to jungle, if you can't tell...but a lot more people than you think hate the Rakan jungle - his ganks are lit.)

  1. Definitely focus more on knowing the ins and outs of your picks more than focusing on the ins and outs of the enemy. Both are important...but you only have full control of ONE of those. You pick a champion, you should know exactly how to punish them for making a mistake, and you should know and avoid moments where you will get punished. You don't control the enemy, you control yourself.
