Which whom are you jungling? If you are lacking AoE of any sort, or are not buying Tiamat to compensate then you're setting yourself behind in this season. Riot says they want to support both, but really they're just reinforcing AOE junglers constantly this year. That's my only suggestion, either buy Tiamat or use a jungler who can clear aoe.

If you want to keep up with solo lane xp, you have to steal xp when you gank or counterjungle the shit out of the enemy jungler.

Its been like this ever since they nerfed the jungle by making camps spawn less often.

As a beginner, you don't need to worry too much over complex routes. You can go to each camp and clear normally, just remember that:

  • Raptors are the deadliest and you could die to them - I usually just avoid them unless I have AoE dmg like Zac Rengar
  • Krugs are slow to kill. If you want to be really fast, you can skip over them.
  • Scuttle crab is useful to provide vision, so get it when you can: but watch out for enemies while you're there. Try to imagine: If I was the enemy jungler would I be coming here? etc.

Regarding ganks, I usually just pop over to lane in between my clears. But if you see a good opportunity, you can go straight to gank. Remember that ganks will cause you to fall behind in level as you could have used that time to kill monsters instead. If your gank is successful, it's common to "tax" some minions from your laner to make up for your lost levels. This also helps to push the wave to enemy tower.
