5.24 is embarrassing.
What information exactly does Riot use in order to make these balance decisions? I'm left confused.
Nidalee
Why is this champion getting buffed? Because she has a low win rate? Take a look at her win rate by elo. Her winrate is garbage in bronze - gold. Notice how it goes up by each elo. Look at her masters winrate of 55%. This is no weak champion in the hands of people who understand how to play her/can land skillshots.
Riven
Why is this champion getting buffed? Her winrate is going up every week as riven players learn to adjust to the new masteries and new build. High elo players have ditched the ravenous build and go for a tytanic/frozen mallet/cleaver build. Why not give it time instead of jumping the gun and handing out a buff?
Hecarim
This champion is not overpowered. I don't think anyone complains about him either. The health changes were unnecessary. The other changes were understandable after reading the context of the nerf.
**Swain **
This champion is not oppressive at all. He is one the old champions that still has counterplay. It's very simple. He has a slow base MS, along with no mobility skills. Very easy to gank. Laning? His W is delayed, has a long cooldown and a high mana cost and by the way is very easy to predict/step out of. The fact the first meaningful change you are going to make to swain in over 3 years is a nerf, is laughable in of itself.
Dr. Mundo/Tahm Kench/Malphite
Good to see these mega tanks will still be dominating the game. Oh but you nerfed dead man's plate! Funny thing is none of them generally build it until later in the game. Only one I can think of who builds it early enough to impact this snowballfest game is Darius.
I will give credit where credit is due however. Riot made good changes to the masteries like veteran scars and precision, with some solid nerfs to champions like Quinn and Soraka. Creep block is fixed as well, thankfully. Though a lot of the rest is really poor.
