I won against a Fizz and still had a bad time.
Just had a game where I was Viktor vs a Fizz. I went 9/3/9, won my lane and won the match overall. However I did not enjoy the match at all. Early game I had a little but towards mid I had roamed and got a few kills and could finally do something to fizz and towards the end I could finally beat him 1v1. I had to build a ton of MR and he still did tons of dmg to me and I had to be on point or hope he made a mistake to win an engagement.
Fizz built no magic penetration other than boots and despite me having 3 magic resist items he chunked me super hard even without landing his ultimate. I had to shove lane and roam to get kills because mid didn't feel fair when Fizz essentially has an 8 second invulnerability and massive damage. Both of us are burst mages, yet his burst obviously exceeded mine despite me build ap/mr and him build ap and no mpen.
I did well, very well, barely died, got a bunch of kills and assists and got towers when he left lane. By all rights I should have had fun but I really just could not enjoy this match because I went up against Fizz. Even when I go up against my counters like Zed or Brand I still have fun because there still is some counter play and things I can do to levy the field and make it more about skill rather than the champion's raw power. I can get armor and zhonya's for zed and I can get movement speed to dodge Brand's skill shots. But with Fizz who's only skill shot is his ult (which he doesn't even really need, lets be honest) and with a skill so stupidly op that it has the nickname "The Troll Pole" on a short cool down he just is not at all fun to play against. It sucks when an enemy knows they can go in on you, deal massive damage and get out scot-free, using a pathetically easy yet overpowered tactic. He has a No-Risk High-Reward play style that doesn't offer much counter play and just ruins the game if you have to play against him.
Please nerf him.
Recommended nerfs Reduced his damage, he is one of the champions that fall into the "high base damage tank" group. His base damage is great and his scaling is ridiculous. Even building a bunch of magic resist items he still chews you up and decimates you if you have none.
Change his troll pole, it's OP. It just gives him the No-Risk High-Reward of going in and dealing tons of damage and getting out. Making it so that things still hit him during the ability would make it fair. It would make him think before going in rather than going in because he knows he will make it out no matter what is thrown at him, abilities like Shaco E and Veigar ultimate are completely negated yet still go on cooldown, it should be a mobility/damaging attack only, not an invulnerability spell. If this got nerfed in this manner he could keep his high damage with no problem because like Katarina, he would have a High-Risk High-Reward factor. Going in with high damage should be dangerous because the correlation of risk to reward should be 1:1.
TL:DR Fizz troll pole is op and toxic and it ruins matches as far as fun goes. Even if you win you still lose because every time you see Fizz in champ select a piece of you soul withers and dies away. And I came with a problem and a solution so please fix this nonsense, I'm tired of using a ban on him or not being able to ban and team doesn't ban.
