Why is Blind Pick still a thing?

While I generally like draft pick (especially now that you pick roles), it seems to be full of killjoys that seem to love to ban any new or reworked champion (even under powered ones) and even those with new skins. I thought I would give blind pick a shot, only to find that it is a cesspool of toxicity and bickering, where people still fight in chat over roles and games end in flame wars before they even start.

Why is this still even a thing? Draft can be overwhelming to newbies, but this mode is so toxic i can't in good conscience recommend this game to new players, and instead send them over to Blizzard's HotS and it's very newbie friendly blind pick. Now I understand that HotS hero select would not work here with the higher emphasis on lane selection, but why do we not decide on roles before matchmaking? Without it, LoL has turned into a game I can't recommend to new players, and can only play with friends that have been here from the start. Since many of those have moved on to other MOBAs, I'll have very little reason to keep playing this game in the future.

Can we please fix this mode? Virtually anything would be an improvement, even just flat out deleting the queue.
