Why are Ranked and Unranked players being matched?

Im a fresh Level 30 and my teammates in normal games are usually Silver and Gold, i just feel bad for them being matched with a scrub like me in normal games when they're trying to have fun i happened to be matched with them and ruin their games, im really REALLY bad at this game (you would cry tears of blood watching me play), they have suggested i should stop playing but i cant yet. seeing as i haven't fully experienced all the content the game has to offer,i would apologize for my horrible game play but the way i am now is inexcusable, i don't understand how anything works in this game and hoped to find answers in the forums.

Rank has nothing to do with anything, it's your MMR. It'll adjust in like 2 weeks if that keeps happening.

normal game mmr is seperate from ranked mmr. Someone could be bronze in ranked and yet have diamond normal game mmr. (this is rare but possible)

If you have played enough of the game to get to level 30 then the matchmaking system should have a good idea of your skill level. You might think you are bad but it matched you with those players for a reason.

That is of course assuming that you didn't get to level 30 by playing mostly co-op vs ai.

Rank is a trophy of accomplishment, where as MMR is a measurement of skill. You may consider yourself bad, but keep in mind there are different types of skill. As a new level 30 you could easily have more natural mechanical skill than informational skill, or perhaps you pick up information quickly but struggle at applying it to the situation at hand. Either way the MMR system says you're not a bad player.

If you truly are not as good as the people you are matched with the MMR system will adjust. Mistakes do happen and are corrected for once enough games have been played.

As you lose, your MMR will drop (yeah, normal has MMR too) and you will be matched with people of less-skill.
