so i hit level 30 and went right into ranked. it placed me as title states with 4 silvers and 1 bronze. this was with solo que. needless to say i didnt do the greatest. i didnt do TERRIBLE but i didnt do good. 4/6/10 or something like that. then i duo que with a bronze 5 player and i got faced against much lower ranked people. almost all bronze. i herd that your ranking placement doesnt go by your wins and loss completely but by mmr as well. is it a good or bad thing that im placing with silvers 1-3? is it a bad thing to duo que with a bronze 5? i did substantially better when duo que'd but i dont know how everything works. i dont want to get stuck in bronze 5 is all. thanks for your replies and help everyone!!! :)

You do lose some MMR for duoing with someone lower than you. Otherwise, all that matters is winning and losing, the other stats do not change anything of significance. You'll get a rating of about how good of players you're playing against when you solo queue.

If you jump into ranked right when you hit 30, expect to be pummeled, expect to be placed in b3-b5, because for almost all fresh level 30's, that is your skill level. If you don't want to get stuck in b5, play normals first, become better than b5, and then go play ranked.
