Getting Demoted in Season 6

Is it possible to be demoted without having 0lp in the new ranked system that was implemented? I'm reading the patch notes article now and I don't see anything about this, but I played three ranked games today. I won the first one, lost the second and third ones and then got demoted.

TL;DR: I'm just looking for some more clarification on how the ranked system works, and even though I've been playing for close to 4 years I still don't understand it.

pretty sure it just makes it easier to get into a division you've previously been demoted from.

If I read it correctly then they didn't change demotions. You shouldn't have been demoted unless you were at zero lp.

Don't you get a certain number of games (losses) at zero lp though? I just figured that's how it worked.

Only if you are fresh into the division or your MMR is still really high.

Weird. I was gold 1 for almost all season last season...

Well like i mean higher than your division. So like, plat 2 MMR but in gold 1 kind of thing.

XD I was wondering because I went on a huge loosing streak in ranked and I didn't get demoted yet
