I've been anticipating this so long. January just started so I wonder when ranks are resetting. Weren't they supposed to reset ranks for pre season? I don't know, but whenever I look it up I only find answers for the 2015 season and not 2016 season.
next season, for preseason they are testing the whole "lose a series get a free win" system.
It should reset when the next season starts but it's a soft reset.
So if someone was Plat they still have Plat MMR and will do placements around that MMR then if they do well they end up roughly back where they were. If they do bad they might drop to Gold if they do better they might get diamond. However someone that was Challenger could likely lose all 10 placements and still be high diamond or plat at the start of the next season.
When does the season start?
they haven't said for this one yet. I'm sure it will be sometime this month. possibly in feb

Resets sometime in January 2016. And that get a free win a series thing doesn't do anything as it doesn't change your MMR.
wait so what if someone got A LOT better but were in s5 would they be able to be moved to say plat or something?
