I started a new account to try out the new leveling system. Unsure how I feel about it all together so far, but at level 5 it felt far ahead of the old system, not so sure at 11 though. Anyways, I notice on this account I have 3 rune pages. But on my main account here I only have 2. Why is this?

I don't understand why rune pages aren't free anyways. I guess they don't need to be since you can edit your pages a lot "easier" pregame yet it's still a convoluted system in my opinion.

I know it's a bit late, but there was a disagreement in this thread that contained various insults that are not permitted. While the disagreement was fine (are the new runes runes or masteries?), some of the talk back and forth was not so I have edited it out. Remember to always be respectful of others and leave any comments related to a person's age, intelligence, or ability to communicate out of your posts. yes you can buy rune pages. Old mastery and rune pages are combined. Old accounts have 2 rune pages, as that is what you get for free. New accounts have 3 rune pages at level 11. Not sure if it's more at level 30.
That is what this post is about.
Because it's easier to give new accounts an extra page compared to old accounts. With old accounts, you would either have to come up with eligibility requirements to receive a page, then you would have to distribute it, and then you would have a drawback from people who aren't eligible to receiving it. Otherwise, they would have to raise the limit to include everyone who already had the maximum amount of pages in the old system. Alternatively, they could come up with an option to have a free claimable rune page if you have less than 3 pages. I'm not saying that it's right that new accounts should be given more than old ones, but just listing some possible reasons, which really just boils down to laziness in all honesty. I personally use 9 of my 20 pages, and when it comes down to slight differences, the modifications are normally a single rune change.

For one thing, you don't actually get "pages" until level 11, so I'm curious where you see 3 pre 11.
