Rammus update idea #2

I've already posted a Rammus update idea before and people liked some parts of it but disliked other parts, mostly my manacosts, flat damage and scalings, so I'm leaving those you to decide and just give the plain preview of the abilities.

PASSIVE: Hardened Carapace Rammus gains bonus-armor depending on how much health he has and gains bonus-health depending on how much armor he has

Q: Powerball PASSIVE: While moving in his ball form, Rammus continuously gains stacks of Velocity. Any speed-ups increase the rate at which Rammus gains stacks of Velocity. Upon being slowed, feared, flee'd or charmed, Rammus slowly loses stacks of Velocity. Upon being rooted, stunned, suppressed, entangled or put into stasis, Rammus loses all stacks of Velocity. ACTIVE: Rammus curls into a ball and gains movement speed over the next 7 seconds. While in his ball form, Rammus cannot use basic attacks. When Rammus collides with an enemy unit or a neutral monster he deals magic damage in an Area of Effect around him. Everyone in the area of effect will be taunted. The more velocities you have during the impact, the bigger the AoE.

W: Spiked Shell PASSIVE: Rammus gets a, with each level increasing, percentage of his armor as attack damage. ACTIVE: Rammus gains a yellow shield that scales with his armor. The shield only blocks physical damage and returns damage from basic attacks to the attacker as magic damage and lasts up to 6 seconds. While his shield is up, Rammus gains bonus armor and magic resist (the bonus armor doesn't make the shield stronger but does increase the damage). When the shield is broken, runs out or when Rammus reactivates the ability, the shield shatters and deals physical damage in an area of effect around him. The damage scales with his armor.

E: Desert Impact Rammus jumps in the air and stomps on the ground, dealing physical damage that scales with his health and attack damage, draws all nearby enemies in and slows them for 2 seconds. If Rammus uses Desert Impact while in his Powerball form, Desert Impact becomes a ranged, ground targeted dash. The range increases the more stacks of Velocity Rammus possesses.

R: Epicenter Rammus creates an earthquake around himself for 8 seconds, dealing magic damage to nearby enemies and enemy structures each second for the duration. Enemy units and neutral monsters will sink towards Rammus without having their abilities or channels interrupted, their movement speed while walking towards Rammus is increased and decreased while walking away from Rammus. When the enemy is in Rammus' basic attack range, the enemies receive extra physical damage scaling with Rammus' armor.

Rammus works well with: Orianna - Orianna's kit works perfect with Rammus' kit, by placing her Ball on Rammus, she increases his armor and therefore his damage, her speed up lets his ganks excel and her ultimate throws everyone into the range for the extra damage of Rammus' ultimate.

Sivir - Sivir's sudden speed boost lets Rammus do very potent ganks early in the game.

Taric - Rammus and Taric can form a very strong chain of crowd control together, to pull off some very deadly ganks, additionally he can increase Rammus' armor and thereby his damage.

Rammus struggles against Morgana - Morgana's bind can make Rammus lose all of his stacks instantly, ruining his ganks. Even if she misses her Q or doesn't have it up, Morgana can still save her ADC with her Black Shield and her ultimate

Ashe - Ashe is not only the queen of Freljord but also the queen of kiting, she has plenty of vision to know when Rammus shows up, she can stun him, robbing him of much of his gank potential and continuously kite him with her volley.

Darius - Darius' natural armor penetration and true damage lets him easily handle an armor-rich Rammus. His own tankiness lets him fight Rammus while shrugging off Rammus' damage. Darius can also pull Rammus away from more desired key targets and ensure that Rammus won't reach his primary target.

I want Rammus to have an update because I love him as character and as contribution to a teamcomp but he is just incredibly bland: All you do as Rammus is rolling up to the enemy, using your one onclick ability and that's it. I also find it troublesome that you can't use some abilities while using the other ones. I think this kit would boost his purpose as anti-AD champion with strong ganks and maneuverability. I also kept all of his previous abilities in the kit, one way or another, and added a few new ideas. His passive would be like Vladimir's passive, only with armor instead of Ability Power. I want him to have this ability for two reasons: the first one is that other champions have damage that scales with armor, Malphite and Taric, have ability that passively increases their armor, that's something that Rammus doesn't have but I think he should have. The other reason is that in a full armor build he would go thornmail, frozen heart, iceborn gauntlet gauntlet, randuin's omen, ninja tabis and cinderhulk. Most of these items don't give health so Cinderhulk's passive would be wasted, the same applies to the keymasteries Courage of the Collossus or Undying Gasp. But with this passive he can build armor and still make some use out of them. At the same time you can build non-armor items and still get some use out of your armor-abilities. The reason I came up with the velocities idea is because I always find it unsatisfying to have ridiculous speed on Rammus' Q and then bump into another unit only for nothing to happen. I figured that giving him damage based on his speed wouldn't be fitting because that's Hecarim's thing, and Rammus' thing is armor, so I thought giving him increased range depending on his movement speed would be a good idea, it goes really well with his general theme too and makes room for some very nice teamcomps and builds. I want Rammus to have an AD-only shield because Rammus' current W, his signature power, only really counters basic attack users like Yi and Tryndamere. Other AD-champions like Pantheon or Jayce are largely unaffected by his W unless they are taunted. Besides there are champions with magic damage-only shields, Morgana and Kassadin and with Camille's debut there is an AD-only shield, I think it fits Rammus. Making his E scale with attack damage is a weird choice, I did that because Rammus' passive to give him AD from armor is kinda out of place when he doesn't actually use the AD. Most champion updates kept all abilities or effects of the champions so I didn't want to remove it either. My idea was that Rammus' E would effectivly scale with Rammus' passive and his W's passive combined. I worded his ultimate's description weirdly on purpose, I was thinking off giving Rammus a new mechanic of "sinking". That would be similar to Thresh's Q in the sense that it slides other units towards Rammus with each tick of his ultimate, except that it doesn't interrupt abilities or channels and you can still move.

I feel like the tuant not being there would hinder him a lot. Synergies with his Defense Curl.

Idk I like his kit now, I'd rather he just got some small changes to that.

Without taunt he would be worthless.

Hey!

I like some of the ideas you have, they sound like they're quite...Rammus. I think I like the yellow physical-only shield the best. He should have something like that. I dunno about putting his taunt on the Q...although I do like the Velocity idea. The only problem I see is that it could all be pretty overpowered. With a move speed + a dash (as I understand, with your desert impact), and an 8 second slow ( assuming people are running from rammus like they should be :D ) PLUS a shield on top of that.

I do like the idea of having another move that isn't just spam...Taunt and DBC are very much like that...having some other form of skillshot would be nice.

I still believe that the hard part of rammus should be deciding when to use his mobility, and when to use his defense. And of course, a good time to ult. Which is probably always :D
