Can we talk about the cost to upgrade mastery tokens

To upgrade two mastery 6 tokens it costs 3250 BE (Blue essence). For mastery 7 it costs 3900 BE! It seems crazy compared to how upgrading tokens with blue essence used to be.

I've been playing the game since around Bard's release, and I only have 75 out of 139 champs. I did take a pretty long break from the game, and I don't play a ton, but I still want to be able to play who I want. How they make it for people like me is "Do you want to show mastery of a champ, or do you want new ones?" Which I really hate. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

Ok, quick question: How many champions do you actually reach mastery 6/7 on? Also, you no longer need to spend on Runes, so I have no doubt you'll pick up plenty of the BE you really need for both champions and Masteries.

  1. Its an Ip sink for players wiht 100K ip.

  2. Now every level you get champ shards. If you happen to get the one you are upgrading it costs 0 Be for you to upgrade. You have a chance to upgrade for free, and if not you get from like 810-1200 so you have at most 5 levels before you can afford an upgrade.

  3. In the old system you didnt get Be unless you bought a chest with RP or got 4 a month, OR you had to spend 1700 IP on a token and convert it to a champ shard, which wouldnt even give you enough to upgrade to level 6 or 7.

All in all its not that bad now

Did all the mastery I needed to before this update, but I'm a little sad that upgrading the mastery on any champions in the future will cost an arm and a leg.

Initially I too wigged out about how expensive it was, but now that I'm again well over 20k blue essence i'm not that worried about it because I have all the champs I want and have plenty of essence if I decide I want more. I do admit that it kinda sucks for newer players or those who don't play as much and want to have the mastery and new champs but I'd honestly suggest either just getting the mastery for the champs you play the most often or waiting to get more champs before upgrading, depending on what you want. For me it actually feels easier to get mastery levels but that's just how I see it.
