This was my smurf account, I was bronze last season, my actual main got to masters this season but then I became an idiot and got myself in a pickle, so I ranked up this account instead. long story, but simply reformed. :) been playing diamond level since season 4

I actually stopped ranked. I never liked it too much because it stresses me out and I like to play games to relax. I only played 8 games this season. I know that reaching diamond again would be a struggle and I didn't want to put the effort into it so I decided I'd prefer to stay unranked than getting the platinum border. Having a Diamond border isn't all sunshine and butterflies either. I've been harrassed multiple times in normal games when I performed poorly (after a long break). Some people seem to think that a diamond border means that you're Faker in every lane.

I feel you dude but like EndlessSorcerer said, I'd personally advise you to finish your placements just to get the rewards as you'll probably be placed in Plat or at least Gold. Even if you believe you're not interested in this year's skin or ward, or whatever, sometime in the future you might wish you had gotten it.

It's silly how one can not want to touch league for roughly 10 minutes after a miserable experience only to come back to it lol. It's pretty much admitting that one really likes it despite its many flaws.

I guess that's why women get so thoroughly upset with men. Because they like them a lot. Probably also why people complain about movies so much. My takeaway from this is if someone complains about something it means they're head-over-heels for the thing.

It would help if said thing had a bit better balance team, however.

The community is separate from the actual game. Sure, it's based off the game, but the Boards allow me to experience perhaps the best part of League without having to play the game.
I won't stop, ~~I can't stop, I don't even know how to stop~~ my mod duties are something I will continue to perform until it becomes a source of strife or I become the very thing I swear to destroy.

It's not the community. This game was never designed to be played solo queue. This entire genre was based off a mod meant to be played with a full group of buddies called Defense of the Ancients (There is a reason they call it DOTA 2 and not DOTA). The issue is that these developers are taking that mod with VERY little modification to the actual genre and giving it to solo queue. A game designed to be played 5v5 will NEVER have a good experience in solo queue in an online game. This game requires an immense amount of planning and coordination each and EVERY match. Something as simple as your teammate seeing your player a second late can lose a team fight and ace you. This is why people look at the MOBA community and cringe. It's an incomplete genre that is yet to be finished causing growing pains in it's games because instead of try to enhance solo queue people just accept it as crap but keep playing so the devs keep making money and rinse/repeat. If EVERY player that thinks soloQ is crap were to stop playing they would have NO choice BUT to make solo queue good. The only reason they get away with this is by using a time investment based design to compel you to play.

To make a team-based game built for solo queue, you need to give the player incentive or notice to play as a team. From champ select to laning phase to mid-game to end-game there isn't really incentive to play as a team. There is FAR more incentive to play like a single player and attempt to be that 1000-0 yasuo/riven/yi than there is to be the 3-5-11 sion that makes play of the game. Having the incentive be "play like a team or lose" isn't enough when your design also allows being fed to carry not having a team. You need to pick one as a designer. Can one player carry every game or do you need a team. YOU CANT HAVE BOTH RIOT!

I just tend to quit ranked once I reach gold, this year I stopped at gold 2 and just lost interest in ranked because of the stressful promotion series
