I like Zed and Azir's Current Spots.

Right now, Azir is in a great spot.

His late game damage is great, but his early game is little, while also being enough to zone properly as he is known for. Although, he now does it without being as much of a nuisance, and forcing people out of lane as soon as they get into it. So not "OP".

He is a monster in teamfights and a good Azir player can wreak havoc on the enemy team if they have a good laning phase with no slip ups.

As for Zed, he is very high risk/reward. I actually like this.

He takes skill now, it's not a 2-0 lead and he is godly. It takes him about 5 kills to really get going.

He's much like Rengar, where he will be useless if he doesn't get ahead, but he will be a monster if he does. I like this about assassins, and really gives you the reward of doing well, and makes it feel like you deserve to completely destroy someone. Just like Azir, his early harass has been really weakened, but a good Zed player can do a ton of damage with a full, perfect combo.

All I have to say about these two, as they've been known to be "OP" for a long time, even though they're quite balanced and the recent nerfs to both have them have made them better as Champions that shouldn't be hit with the nerf bat any longer.

Edit - I don't hate either of these champions and love them, I play both of them quite a bit and just wanted to point out my opinions of their current states. Azir has a 41% winrate because he is "eh" in solo preference queues. He is still a strong champion.

Azir mains win rate 45% and you're saying Azir is good?

Bad ideas and arguments.

..... yeah Zed takes skill ....... 3/0 zed 92 cs hit me with double Q with TL and bb to 80% HP on a HP/Def build .... so much skill. He is just a binary champ that got no point .... if feed he faceroll, you just need luck to have a mid who don't feed him.

As for Azir ... He now works only on ppls that can properly play him .... i realy don't complain about that, but having a champ that can shine only in the hands of pro ( with discutible result ) makes me sad

People need to realize that Azir is a team player champ. He needs a hard engage/CC team to do well.

A team full of squishys will not let him win teamfights. People just play him anytime no.matter the team comp. (I'm guilty of this before I realized his ideal team comp.)

That's why his win rate is so low. Many new players want to play him, a lot of experts at him moved on due to the nerfs. Therefore his winrate makes sense. But you're right, he isnt a bad champ. He just needs some time for people to adjust.

"How dare you imply Azir isn't the most stupidestest strongestest super duper OP piece of shit ever created!11!!11!"

  • incoming Azir QQers

Azir has a very strong potential. However, most people aren't good enough with him to be able to use him to any sort of good potential. Hence, such a horribly low winrate across just about every factor possible (gamelength/experience/builds/matchups/etc) for just about anyone who's not in LCS or otherwise at LCS-level. He was too strong in LCS, hence nerfs for LCS level. Which essentially neutered his capability in just about anything outside of that, except for the people who really learned him to an extreme level otherwise. To be honest, unless the Azir player is actually good, Azir as a champion will be effectively trash. Sure, he might be oppressive and all with his soldiers, but it really means nothing if the player isn't good because Azir is so punishing to those who aren't absolutely amazing with him, thanks to dozens of nerfs one after another through patches.

Zed is just weak right now unless he gets fed because of the very nature of his ult. He's a safer assassin relatively, but he's also less consistent in being able to kill his target if the support and/or the rest of the team are actually attentive and would help. Outside of assassinating lone targets (which is their fault) like any other assassin, the only way he can go in and out of a team quickly to dive into the middle (which is a bad idea usually for reasons I'll explain) is with his ult, which prevents going back for like, what, 0.75s or so I think? Immediate CC/exhaust/damage to him will hurt him quite a bit. Also, the inherent 3s delay on his ult makes it easier to stop with things such as heals/shields/etc, as opposed to other assassins who have stronger immediate upfront burst.

Both of them are quite fun and flashy, but unrewarding and punishing to those without a high amount of experience on them.

Ever been to master tier? Don't fucking tell me Azir is "balanced" and "in a good spot". You've never played against a good Azir, and there is literally nothing that can be done to stop one. The early lane is ungankable, the mid game is (Rylais>Nashors>DONE!) stupid strong, and the late game shouldn't even be legal. Skilled players should be rewarded for skilled play, sure, but there has to be a limit. Azir has no limit. He has everything, because Riot thought it was a good idea to give a champion insane range, insane burst, insane DPS, mobility, self peel, and the ability TO CREATE TURRETS. The problem now is that the Shurima Shuffle is part of his identity. Such mobility would've worked great on ANY other champion, but no. It had to be tacked on to the champion who already has insane range and damage. Azir has his cake and eats it too in so many ways.

But don't worry, Azir is getting nerfed! -10 damage.
