You may be thinking to your self "Oh this is just another Rengar main who is salty about the rework, skip" But that is not the case here. I'm far from a Rengar main i don't even know some of the basic mechanics of that champion, I just play him for fun, but some of these changes rule him out of the "Assassin" category. For example his bonetooth necklace. His passive prior to the patch had some variety, some buffs or checkpoints to reward Rengar for meeting a certain kill participation value. His passive as of now consists of no variety what so ever, its just bonus ad, which seems great at the time, but then you realize you have no purpose when the meta is brainless tanks who one shot you as soon as you leap in, but that's where his W comes in right?? Well, his W takes away from the Assassin gameplay, and replaces it with a bruiser or tankyish style. This also apply's to his Q, his q not being a auto attack reset anymore, and it being a skillshot, screams the class bruiser. Your goal of the assassin update was to rework assassins and give them a upgrade to their kit, when all you did was make one of the most fun to play champions a bruiser and now, he never gets played anymore. Rengar's W also has a problem, you basically gave him a built in qss, which seems nice but you have to remember that this is a ASSASSIN rework, not a Tank rework. His w acts like Tahm's, Based on the damage he has taken over the course of 2 seconds, he can heal a proportion of that missing help with a single W, basically making his W useless in the assassination process, considering you'll probably need to use it to get away from the on going cc chain that's about take place for jumping on a ADC. his E didn't undergo any changes that im aware of so that's fine. His ult however did, and they were big changes that gave him many buffs, but more counterplay if your not playing in silver-bronze elo. His R at the beginning of the rework had INSANE duration which could have been balanced to a more reasonable state if you kept the normal bonetooth necklace, but you decided to nerf it to basically the old one, but still keeping the other affects that applied. The mark above the head could've been fixed easily without this whole busted auto critical hit as soon as you leap on the target. You simply could've just increased the range of the notification on the top of the champion model and that would've provided just as much counter play and make him more of a assassin then seeing and knowing when he ults about 2k-4k units away, basically making him useless if hes trying to assassinate champions without being seen. His ult gives him many buffs but adds so much of this desired counterplay, in favor to the adc-mid region, that it completely makes his ultimate useless. His ultimate also has a cast time, and the bad part about this is that the enemy can see the mark above their head before Rengar is even able to leap from his camouflage. They can also use the notification to determine where he is coming from. Enemey's can also switch positions to make it to where the only champion that Rengar can get his crit buff on leap is a tank with 200+ armor and 3k HP. All of this counterplay can be used to make Rengar an actual useless champion to someone who isn't stuck in bronze dynamic queue. His ultimate also makes it to where he cant cast abilities inside of his ultimate which is highly annoying when I'm trying to one shot someone. Rengar prior to the rework still had counter play but he could still assassinate. All you really had to do was make it to where the empowered q didn't give attack speed or such a huge damage buff. Keep the passive the same because it was balanced in the first place I don't really know why you touched it in the first place. They Q could use some tweaking but not an ENTIRE rework, his W back then was just fine with the empowered heal, not a free qss for pressing 4 buttons. E was perfectly fine. R notification needed some tweaking prior to the rework but not a 2000 unit to 4000 unit notification. In my personal opinion, and speaking for people who main Rengar or just love to play him, the Old Rengar needed some nerfs, but this is way to much, he isn't an assassin anymore. Which makes him incredibly annoying to play. Sure, he may be an assassin in bronze-silver, if that was the ranked range you were targeting, but playing him in gold-diamond for fun with your friends or even in ranked, he is a useless champion, everyone I've spoken to has liked the old Rengar better, and i bet the survey results said so too, so why are you not reverting him, it just doesn't make any sense to me. So please listen to the community and people who play the champion and revert the champion his play rate is basically asking for it. Lets be honest here, he has a Win Rate of 48.36%, a Play Rate of 2.63%, and a Ban Rate of 0.23%. This needs to happen, so please listen to the community and help us.

WOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH WALL OF TEXT

Also while you're right, for some reason reworked Rengar was my favorite assassin, and I actually had the most success playing him as one. His W is still needed to assassinate, although it's mainly just to get an empowered ability off (usually an E because fucking Caitlyn always E's away after I jump on her).

It's hopeless, riot doesn't care about how their players feel about their main. Its all about the overall health of the game. And unfortunately, they can't fix Rengar, they don't know how to accomplish both.
