Why banning people for petty chat is hurting the game

Someone gets a 14 day or perma ban for chat:

So what does the average person do now? They hop on their other account, or create one, and terrorize ranked possibly being toxic along the way. I know for a fact the most toxic people are the ones with the most accounts and let me tell you:

THIS SYSTEM DOES NOT STOP OR HELP TOXICITY, IT MAKES IT WORSE

Why? Because you banned so many players, they are now jaded to the point where they just create accounts and assume they are going to get banned. Ranked is a smurf fest. Chat is worse than ever. I can expect an N word once per day at least.

Stop banning people in chat for saying things like "wow you're bad" and you'd see overall less toxicity because you did not radicalize people. By having heavy handed suspensions, you are not helping anyone learn you are radicalizing people on their next account.

This is how most humans will behave. And I know nothing will be done about it, because I have been playing this game since the Beta and ever since Riot tried the Tribunal they have never been able to get it right and have been creating more toxicity in their attempt to moderate every game's chat.

The matter of fact is you can troll every game and intentionally lose and as long as you don't chat, you can't get banned. The system is broken, and only cares about chat trigger words and report numbers. The game is a dread to play, as every game you get post lobby "report x" because the report system is so often just used as an "I don't like this guy" button.

Rest is your opinion, but let's get facts.

  1. Reporting troll via support ticket will likely get him banned, unless it's something like missing skillshots on purpose or similar things that can't be distinguished from bad player.
  2. Trigger words are part of that, but system can detect overall toxicity/negativity, mainly punished by chat bans.
  3. 1 report = 9 reports, if you did something wrong in that game, you will be punished sooner or later, false reports has no value.

Banning people for chat is great.

But people should be banned for poor in game behaviour regardless of chat.

Just because someone avoids a ban being an ass doesnt excuse being an ass verbally.

New level 30 LoL accounts go for about $20.

So really the entire punishment system is worthless.

My problem is that the main people that make these posts are usually toxic people. I've played enough League to know that people that flame and insult the team way too much for way too long are nearly as detrimental as actual inters because they don't focus on the game anymore and coerce others to ALSO not focus on the game, which results in losses. Either way you'll be wasting my time in a 20 to 40 minute commitment that you're ruining by being an ass. This thread is a joke of a deflection.
