Hello, I'm an unranked player who's going to try and start ranked pretty soon, and I mainly play top lane. I'm also thinking of starting to play 
top and was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to give tips on him whether its a build, runes or combos.

typically jax goes conqueror , triumph , alacrity, coup de grace bone plating and chrysalis
you need to know how to ward jump with Q, know spacial awareness, know both passives with your normal passive and ult passive and how to time all that to your advantage
if you go to the top link you can see skill order, items, match ups , runes. you can see pro builds. if you watch wingsofdeath ( he is low diamond this season ) but has been former pro and master tier player earlier this season

you get +50 hp for lane that turns into damage when you have 4 take downs
and its the most picked rune on him in that tree/row
2nd wind is picked 10.8% of games where as chrysalis is picked 37.6% of the time.
also Lindarang a challenger Jax player in KR plays with chrysalis
