In my eyes, a greedy play for money. Can someone point me to a link that shows this was an altruistic move on their part? Otherwise, just like Candy Crush. Good job RITO. You've lost respect from a lot of players with this move.

Makes me think League is finally dying, not just sustaining, when you're desperate enough to take advantage of weak willed people with deep pockets.

why downvote? hes got a point hextech crafting was supposed to be about earning stuff through good play and its not that at all you can buy everything with rp so people with money to burn like the dumbass youtubers can spend 100-300 bucks on chests and get what they want (hextech annie included) but the people who just earn their stuff dont get shit in their chests...i finally got a skin shard for a legendary skin and its been a week havnet gotten a third key frag to open a chest for orange essence...it wouldnt be so bad if they didnt rig it so i wont get key frags now since i have a $20 wp riot you've done your commie overlords proud gj ruining an awesome game

With the implementation of Hextech Crafting you can more easily obtain things like champion skin, ward skins, & summoner icons just by playing the game. Got any S rank on a champion for the first time? FREE Hextech chest! Got enough key shards to make a key from having fun and winning games? Make a FREE key! Use the free key you got on the free chest! You then get free shards that you can turn into permanent loot! It can be almost any Champion, a Champion Skin, Ward Skin, and/or a Summoner Icon in any combination.

rito is turning into cs go/cod where u can get these things free but it will take months to get what you want so they are doing the pay for a chance to get and people are taking that chance because it beats out playing this diminishing game for ever

Just because it takes a long time to get doesn't mean that it is bad. This is riot literally GIVING AWAY skins that cost actual, real life money. If it took approximately an hour of play to get a skin, you could have all the skins you want within a few months, and riot would have lost pretty much all its income from you. Otherwise, riot is adding a gambling method: You can spend $10 on that legendary skin you want, or you can spend 10$ on a couple random skins. It's up to you. OR, you could do really well on a bunch of champions, and get a couple random skins a month, for free.

My father has a saying (not sure how common it is): Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Nunu Bot! From a free chest! I've seen someone post that they rerolled 3 skin shards and got DJ Sona ! I can't find that thread right now though.

Nice! I'm still debating on getting the Nunu skin even though I have MORE then enough Orange Essence for it... I have him but I BARELY play him is why. its tempting though due to the laugh spam...

I find that skins help. I never played Es before the skin, but now he's lvl 4. And my sun goddess karma skin made me get her. And now I am getting lee sin since I got his mui Thai skin, and I need another jng. I would get the skin. You'll start playing nunu

When the system is designed to nickel and dime anyone who has a gambling addiction (hextech slots), more know as whales, it puts the game designer on the same level as a drug dealer. Add up ip sinks that makes no sense (wow, AD marks are cheap. Hybrid penetration set cost as much as a champion Ip. Why? No reason).

It is funny how people complain that 60U$ is too much for battle front, but with that money you buy like 10% of league content? Gameplay relevant content, no skins included.
