How to Climb in Solo Queue

Okay I just got out of a rough game where I got my face sand papered by a Katarina and got my entire team to flame me but I'm doing alright.

If you're reading this you're probably wondering how to get to out of bronze, silver, plat, or even diamond into a higher elo well I got you covered.

To move up higher you need to good consistently and make an effort to improve. Understand that you will be put into bad teams occasionally and people will rage, that's a variable that won't change and is to be expected, what you can change is that way you approach other players against you and playing with you. Here are some tips to help you Climb your way to have that legendary end of season border you want.

  1. Don't rage: Probably the best advice I could possibly give you. When your focus goes from fighting the enemy team to fighting your own you are way more prone to making mistakes. When your teammate starts trying to pick a fight with you because you didn't get to river fast enough to help him with that 1v3 he initiated don't follow through with the rebuttal or when you're getting trashed in lane by your top counter and you feel the blood boiling inside you, resist the urge to say something to your teammates about how they aren't helping or going in all chat to tell them how cheap the champ is.

This is hard to do at first but it gets better with practice and if you master this and are able to give compliments to your opponents please tell me how.

  1. Consider being a One-trick: Admittedly I am a One-trick TF and I enjoy playing him but it is a reason I can climb so well. I know the match ups and I have more then 4k games as him. When you get to know a champ so intimately you perform incredibly well due to the knowledge match-ups, position, and just confidence you have as them. For example I get matched up against Fizz, Zed, Yas, and Katarinas very often because it is actually common knowledge that they counter TF, but those match-ups I have a positive record in because I have so much experience against those champs because rather then playing to counter my opponent I'm playing my own game. Instead of looking it as TF vs Fizz I'm looking at it like 4k games vs 300 games.

  2. Work with your team: Even if you don't like their play style or they are flaming fundamentally you both want to win the game and climb to a higher elo, any squabble you have will lessen the chances of you winning. Gank, Roam, teamfights, splitting are all good ways of senergizing with your teammates in order to achieve victory. It's kind of like driving in traffic. When you're on the road do you see other cars or other people? If you see other cars you're far more likely to cut people off, have road rage, and find any means to get yourself ahead while forgetting about everyone else. If you see people you understand nobody wants to be there and are fine listening to music and enjoying your ride you know you're not going to help everyone else by being selfish.

Pro-tip: stream or use discord (people are far more likely to humanize you if they can hear your voice and won't rage at you)

  1. Understand you won't win them all and listen to your body: Some games you won't win, nobody over 100 games played has one every game or even close to it, it will happen, its to be expected so be ready to accept it. You can change the way that you handle losses, don't let one loss negatively effect the way you play your next games. Enjoy yourself when you play and strive to be better. When you feel tired and your notice you're starting to get tilted take a break. Let your mind settle and return with a better mind set. Have some food, take a nap, go out, call it quits for the day. Remember getting up higher is about consistently playing well, not about playing a lot of games.

There you have it. Following this will assist in getting a higher elo. If you have any questions or would like someone to talk to about meta, Tf, play styles match-ups message me or chat me up in my twitch at https://www.twitch.tv/flockofwalruses . I don't bite excited to hear from you :D

Anyone looking to climb should be looking to one trick. Play what you are best at.

How do you beat Fizz as TF though.

Do you just farm and dodge his ult.
