If your main is a very popular champion to be picked or banned, you should consider having a backup that you're equally skilled with (among the several others you're decent with). That's one reason I love Nami so much; there's nothing wrong with her and she's a very good support, but nobody picks or bans her :3

I always ban LeBlanc because AP assassins (LeBlanc, old Fizz, Akali, etc) are in general OP due to lack of MR itemization and how they can always get into range to actually unleash their burst. I never ban Zed simply for the fact that Zed is AD and melee, meaning that if you don't play skillshot mages, he has to get in your face to deal damage, and that's where point and click spells and autoattackers are powerful. It also means that early armor is a strong buy. Meanwhile there's few good MR options, LeBlanc has far more mobility than Zed, and has way more burst that happens way faster.

Zed's burst takes about 2-3 seconds, in which time you can fight back. He's a lane bully, but not the best scaling burst assassin - what makes Zed better than most assassins late game is his sustained damage, which is very high and on the level of most bruisers. LeBlanc on the other hand scales better than Zed as a burst assassin, and while being a much worse farmer and sustained damage dealer, is a much better assassin since she can land all of her burst in 1 second and pop back to safety.
