Why Akali rework shouldn't have gone live

Let's first look at riot design principles for assassins: -They need a reliable way to get to their targets -they need a way to burst them, however riot doesn't want oneshots -> assassins need some defensive tool in their kit so they can stay alive for at least 2-3 seconds so they can succeed with their delayed burst pattern

  • assassins need a way to get out after their assassination (for whatever reason)

considering these principles, reworked akali is well designed. No oneshots, can still assassinate, can get out, is useless after using ult and w.

The problem is that the design principles are bullshit. Why should a champion be able to escape after diving into an enemy team? Why should they have more than one "get out of the fail" cards? Also, while many of the boards will disagree, i think that "delayed burst" is not healthy for the game, as it forces overpowered defensive tools on a squishy characters kit (not only akali W, but also ekko ult, Irelia W

Akali is the most well-made assassin in the game and should be considered the new standard.

Because that's literally every RPG design of an assassin. Stick and move, boyo.

Why should they have more than one "get out of the fail" cards?

Most of them don't. But when you have free mobility, you have free mobility.

"Overpowered" is subjective. In regards to Ekko it's actually pretty underpowered. I mean, we can literally see where he'll escape to before he even escapes with his ult--something he can't do if he's hard-cced. Then there's grievous wounds which hurts his healing. I suppose that's the necessary balance, though.

Because the playerbase is incompetent and they have zero interest to practice and learn the game.

Just like in real life. Everything should be handed on a silver platter.

should a made her ult one dash and thats it tbh that skill is actually loaded if you think about it a stun and execution which are also two dashes and how her e is also one dash is kind of dumb tbh
