Riot Deputy

So I was thinking we could make a New Icon and Banner Emblem for those that Qualify for this.

In General Riot gets a lot of people reporting a lot of people. The problem with this is a lot of these reports are people mad because of a bad game. Please Riot think about how many time you go to view reports sent by players and you see the same thing "this poppy went 1/10/8 and lost the game because she wouldn't ward. I'm reporting her for feeding"

Let uss be honest about that report... It's a dumb report. The poppy did get 1 kill and 8 assists. If this is all the information we have to go off of then we can assume poppy was not intentionally feeding. She did manage to get 1 kill and was there for a few team fights. Yes Poppy might have lost the game. she was playing poorly. Everyone has a bad game...

Well I am here with a solution to help benefit Riot and the league community.

The "Riot Deputy". The Riot Deputy is someone that takes a little bit more priority when they report someone.

How to get this status?

  1. You cannot report super often.
  2. When you do report someone 90% of the time your reports go to tribunal and the person you reported gets penalized in some way.
  3. You have to have a relatively clean tribunal record. "If you got a chat restriction 9 month ago cause you kept spamming "adc" in blind pick" I think we could let that one slide.
  4. Have a record of clearly detailed reports about the incident you are reporting.

How does this help us?

Well people love icons and banner emblems. In an attempt to get this status you will receive less reports like our "Poppy fed" report. This will allow you to use less resources and take action against the more drastic reports such as a "Your a fucking noobshit faggot that can't do anything right wtf was that smite you fucking moron, go kill your self." reports.

In addition to all of this, there will be certain members of the community that only ever report those serious things like the "go kys" report above. Because of these you can assume that the reports these users are submitting are very drastic offenses that need to be taken care of as quickly as possible. Allowing you to take action quicker with these reports also.

So not only are the more drastic offenses submitted by non-Riot Deputies taken care of quicker, (due to the fact there will be generally less reporting), but those that have proven to consider what they report more carefully can be assured that there report will be looked at really soon and dealt with.

I hope we can implement this into your system I think it would be a great addition. This may need some tweaking but I think is an overall great idea

Do you feel the Riot Deputy system should feel like a reward to players, feel like recognition, or be a behind-the-scenes initiative?

Most definantly the reward. Riot already has a similar system set up behind the scene's. This is just a system ment to be a bit more specialized and work accordance with the already existing system

What constitutes a dumb report as opposed to a valid one? How would this system help to solidify this differentiation?

The system does not dictate what is a "dumb" report. It just assumes that there is far less likely a chance for these users to have a "dumb" report as apposed to the other users that have 99% of there report being thrown out of the system before it ever goes to tribunal. These reports would still have to be looked at individually like the other reports. They would probably just get there own special folder on the riot servers so that mods can look at reports made specifically by "Riot Deputies"

Why is frequency of reporting a factor? What if a player reports really often but the vast majority of their reports are valid?

**It's kind of hard to answer this question in a short brief answer. Ill try my best.

If you look at the underlining principle of this system it is simply Riot being able to have people work for them that they "Do not pay" (I hate to describe it like that). Now let us look at what I mean by that. There are a lot of reports that get dealt with every day. In short the "Riot Deputy" does not report very often for whatever reasons. Just to give us a reason lets just assume they don't report because they don't feel like taking the time to fill out the report. If this user reports than we can assume that something in that match made them actually feel like filling out a report. Which would mean that something happened in that match that does not happen most other matches. I saw a forum post a few weeks back about a Fiora Jungle starting out with a hunters 5hp pots and both elixer's and accourding to that persons match history this was all bought at 19 sec into the match (I physically saw the match history as they posted it into the forum post) you cannot buy those items with starting gold. These are the types of reports that "Riot Deputies" come in handy because they get dealt with quickly. In league of legends what k/d is better 2/4 or 15/30? both have the same ratio but if you gave all your kills the the enemy adc which would you rather have? It is the same with the frequency of reporting 9/10 is better that 90/100**

From where are you pulling the 90% statistic? Why 90%?

Some people do get mad and report people that they normally wouldn't report. I usually don't get upset with a toxic person talking trash about me and my playing ability, but lets say i have a bad day. This bad day would cause me to let things get to me that normally wouldn't. So I might end up reporting someone as toxic even though all they said was "Why are you split pushing we need to group if you keep split pushing were going to loose because of you. Group with the team plz!!!" I would report them just because i took it the wrong way like they were being toxic to me. In all honesty they could have said that a little better but certainly not toxic enough for a report. Its just human nature sometimes. I feel like 90% is a fair enough bad/good report ratio.

What would the specific limiter be on a clean behavior record? How difficult to obtain should this title be?

Harder than it is to get on PBE. I feel like the record to qualify for PBE should be the half way mark for becoming a "Riot Deputy". These people are the A+ students in high school. There here for a reason. they have obtained this postion for a reason. This system balances itself out. If there are few Riot Deputies then there a still about the same number of reports as there is now. However if there are a lot of Deputies then there should be general decrease in reports and even thought the deputies get a little more priority, the fact that there are such few reports mean those that are not deputies have their reports looked at in a shorter time frame.

What if a report is extremely valid but a reporter just doesn't have time to make comprehensively astute reports?

** Luckily Riot can view just about everything that happens on thier system. Sometimes people play a game before going to work and need to leave right after. Its gonna be hard to make a complete report. There has to be a record of detailed reports but sometime it is difficult and everyone understands that 1 or 2 reports here and there are not going to be a big factor. Just simply press the report button and then type "Fiora 19 sec buy" and go to work. Riot is more than competent enough to figuer the rest out. They have to look over so many reports every day. The fact that you are a Riot Deputy means you get more priority in your reports which means they will look at your before they do everyone elses. Basically if you consistantly don't give more details and they have to go looking for the details and finding out what your talking about and gathering details themselfs you will loose your status. You are being rewarded, for making their job easier but if it starts to make their job harder you will loose your reward. Sometimes you can't fill out a fully detailed report, but you should do it every time you can. Assuming your a Riot Deputy you don't report very often anyways and this shouldn't be much of a problem.**

If the Tribunal is working at significantly higher efficiency, as Riot is currently working on, would a system like this become redundant?

No, In a system like Riot's Tribunal System you have a compilation of many smaller systems working together to create the grand system that is the Tribunal System (Try Saying that 10 times really fast). In theory this is just a System that is here to help the Tribunal have higher efficiency. "Riot Deputies" Improve the response times to more drastic reports, Dramaticaly decrease the number of total reports, Uses less resources in the tribunal process, while speeding up the process in general. Not only that they have a huge positive impact on the matches they play just for playing in those matches. People can see they are "Riot Deputies" they will be less likely to be overly toxic or cheat or hack or intent feed or afk. Just for being in that match they will already instantly improve the playing experience for everyone in that match.
