Worst Community Ever

So I'm a noob in 2020, and after having played league for about 4 months I have concluded that his has got to be the worst gaming community in PC games. Every game someone either flames or griefs, quits early or spams Pings. It gets irritating, and at times it just simply ruins the whole experience. And this is only Lvl19 >_>

I haven't even started playing ranked and people take their games like it was their job, its ridiculous. I want to play a game where we can strategize in chat not get yelled at and called a POS for going 1/5. Literally the past 5 games I've had to report someone for being toxic and tilting hard, receiving penalty notifications.

I've played Overwatch and CS GO so much more without experiencing so much verbal cancer. You guys need to start banning people from chat for longer or something. I'm at a point that the community is so shit so it makes not want to log on.

What gives? Is this game dead?

Riot completely fucked over the matchmaking for average players. Now everyone is pissed and it shows.

Riots garbage matchmaking has frustrated everyone to the point that no one can take the game seriously. Even those that want to, which means everyone I know has quit the game, and I fucking hate myself for not quitting.

Riot just FUCKS you with matching. I'm so fucking sick of it, its fucking insane.

I think i'm actually done with this fucking game. I'm getting so close. Its just such fucking garbage. I can't handle this shit anymore.

This season it's way worse than in previous seasons imho. But this toxicity is generated by Riot itself. I play this game since Season 3. Although people complaining about the game every season I enjoyed it so far. But this season feels so frustrating. It just feels so coinflip and I kinda have 0 impact on my games. Idk if it's my champ (Voli) or my lane (jungler). I peaked Dia2 Promos in Season 9 and now I stuck in Plat4 with 47% winrate on 300 games. In Preseason I was Dia3 and climbing even with the jungle nerfs and now i can do what I want. Often I am Ace or MVP but that doesn't change a thing when you have a 0:6 top and a 3:12 botlane after 10 minutes. This is very frustrating and I can understand why people are in a bad mood and flame more.

I started drawing again now and will try to play less games a week because i realized that i feel bad while playing this game. I am angry and frustrated and full of hate playing a game that usually gave me a fun time. That's not what a game should feel like. And I don't want to spend my free time being in a shit mood. Will be a challenge because I am fucking addicted to this shit.

I think the game was better when Tribunal was a thing. I think people feared the eyes of a stranger more than the algorithms of a bot.

That being said ... I've played exactly one solo-queue game since season 2 because the experience was so toxic that I never wanted to return to that scene.

I liked playing ranked 3's with my team. I LOVED Dominion So I found other places to play ... now they are gone and I don't know what I'm going to do with this ancient account.

Also ... I think things really started downhill when Riot changed the discussion boards to the Reddit style and drove away the very active community.

I'm sorry to hear you're having a rough experience with the playerbase. imo part of it is due the state of the game itself right now. For one thing, there seem to be no actual consequences from Riot if you int/afk/dodge/dc/whatever. For another, one person getting very ahead on the enemy team within the first 15 minutes could very well mean the game is over, the result has been determined, just because of how hard it is to make a comeback against an enemy that is snowballing hard. Most games I experience are stomp or be stomped; it's very rare I get a good experience where both teams are more evenly matched and we can save ourselves from losing by minute 20. The "snowball meta" as it's called seems to encourage flaming and toxicity just because it can be so frustrating and one-sided, and many people have resulted to intentionally feeding just because they know there will be no consequences. It's a sad time to be introducing yourself to this game. Riot doesn't seem interested in our feedback

yeah def not like its a multi-billion company with still a fast growing player base with already billions of accounts and the largest esport out there right now.

But yes, the community is bad. However, you also have to look at it from all sides. While yes, you may be new, but your most likely not playing with new players. They are probably smurf accounts. This most likely means that they know what your doing wrong and that tilts them because they have grinded the game out and you haven't and that loses the game. Your passivity toward getting better at the game can loose a game of league. Its at a REALLY bad place right now where one person doing poorly is the difference from winning and losing. Honestly, if your looking to have fun playing, go to ARAM, AURF, or TFT. Otherwise, start grinding. Watch tutorials (no flame) and actively try to get better. Some metas open the game up for a loose and funner gameplay.

Two other things. You can look for a group of friends to play with instead of randos. That makes it a much better experience. Another BIG thing is the fact that you can disable chat through settings. This can help when your getting flamed or if you are flaming. Just turn chat off and focus on winning the game.

If your not concerned about winning, gtfo. please just go now. nobody wants someone who doesnt care about winning ESPECIALLY in ranked

Eh, you'll get used to it. Just mute and do your best. It's shitty for sure, but it's a struggle we all must overcome if we truly love the game.

I don't really like solo queue to be honest. My friends got me into it and it's so much easier to deal with when you aren't alone. If you find funny people to queue with, it becomes a really fun game.

DEAD GAME

True Garen2/18/2020, 1:43:50 PM1 votes

unfortunately lvl 5-25 are a cesspool of toxic permabanned players returning to inflict themselves on the segment least equipped to deal with it. These behaviours continue to exist past lvl 30, but highly concentrated below it. (Riot system of dealing with incorrigible players tends to promote this situation, and Runes reforged probably also exacerbated, if that is even possible to imagine.)

Suggest play with a group of friends if you can. You will lose even more often, because premades at these low levels always contain "smurfs". But at least your teammates, hopefully, will be nicer. Maybe you can even find a 'smurf" of your own to carry you. Eventually, playing with full premades, you will conclude that the game is hardly winnable ever, by the time that you turn past lvl 30 or 35. By that time, it may be safe to try some soloq norms again.

As a new player, you might play co-op. The matches tend to be quite friendly and social. There are those who devote themselves to co-op. Co-op matches give XP, at least. ... Ah... but don't rush into ranked play. The potential for comparable unpleasantness until one has learned enough to actually qualify beyond the lowest echelons. Which could take a rather long time. But why learn in an angry, unpleasant environment, what might be gained just as well with more pleasant company?

TheRunicBlade2/18/2020, 6:09:20 PM1 votes

Playing alone in matches definitely can lead to a negative gaming experience, especially as a noob due to all the smurfing at those levels. Id recommend trying to find a friend group to play with. Makes the game a lot more enjoyable :) [slayer-jinx-wink]

I would argue that Overwatch is worse because theres more babyraging than flaming

Xonra2/18/2020, 9:59:00 PM1 votes

You clearly haven't played any other online games, bud. this is far from the worst. Go play Dota, Overwatch, CS:GO, pretty much any Blizzard game and then come back. You are literally lying if you saying Overwatch and CS:GO are better because I play CS:GO and have played plenty of Overwatch and they are both significantly worse.

This ain't even the worst of the games currently active let alone ever. You are either very very sensitive and like using hyperbole, or haven't played many online games.

What is your account name / region for Overwatch?

My guess is you are around 2200-2500, those people are chill as fuck and just play to have a great time and talk. You have no idea how horrible the Overwatch community actually is.

2400 hours in CSGO, probably around there in OW, and much more in League. Overwatch is by FAR the worst and nothing will ever come close to the level of toxicity.

League is bad right now only due to how horrible the game itself is, league has always been tilting and got a rep for being toxic because it's just a natural reaction to things that happen in League added to the fact that you are stuck in that same tilting game for much longer than others.

Look up smash players throwing their controllers or COD salty moments, toxicity is everywhere in gaming and is just natural. People only think it's worse because the "normies" took the word toxic and misinterpreted it as just a blanket term for rude.
