Day/Night cycle for SR

After seeing all these champ teasers/game teasers with SR being at night, I began to wonder if it would be a good idea to have a night time in the Rift. I know this is stepping into DOTA2 territory, but a having SR shift from day to night every minutes would be pretty neat, and it can open up quite a few mechanics for the future.

What do you think about it?

Would be cool but I feel like its too late to make it more than just a cosmetic thing like how it affects gameplay in dota. It'd have to just be visual. Also there'd have to be a toggle to turn it on and off.

so an hour long game is equivalent to 2 months in SR time? 2 months to blow up 1 nexus??? would still be cool though

It could be cool, it would be extra cool if nighttime effected the fog of war in some way, like reducing visibility range of champions and wards...

I think it would be awesome! Maybe instead of having a cycle, prompt the teams to vote if they would rather play in the daytime or nighttime. 10 votes total.

I think having day and night could either be fantastic or a complete nightmare. If you have mechanical differences between day and night, it adds more depth, but also potentially restricts freedom.

Let's say that, for instance, assassins moved faster and champs had slightly lower vision range at night, just a general mechanic that's thematically motivated. Now there's more depth, because there's an additional mechanic that factors into gameplay. But at the same time, you've alleviated decision making demands by boiling down what you should do to be highly dependent on a single factor.

Honestly, Summoner's Rift as a map is very static and I don't think it's necessary to start adding so many new ideas to it. I would MUCH rather we load up a totally new map with new experimental ideas.

Now I don't want to bring up any Chambers...filled with magma...but you see where this is going.
