So Malzahar gets to keep his silence, but yet...

well malz can actually miss his silence unlike kass
Kass (and Leblanc) had their Silence removed because it was point-and-click.
Malz's Q is a skill shot that can miss/be avoided.

Silence OTP
:P They have silence due to their disruptive nature, whereas Kassadin and LeBlanc are far more "Assassin" Centric.
So Malzahar gets to keep his silence, but yet...
Malzahar's Silence is heavily telegraphed, difficult to aim, has a long start-up time, and has a lot of in-built counterplay that makes it a pretty balanced skill.
Kassadin's Silence prevented champions form responding with abilities or summoner spells the moment he jumped on top of them for an assassination, removing any real counterplay in that situation.
I thought this was going to be a Graves Cigar joke. I'm a little disappointed.
They're going to have to be careful with the damage numbers or malz may become pick/ban since now he can just walts into a teamfight and start ulting uninterrupted for a few seconds... also the fact that they combined his ulti and old w... I do love the summon voidling thing tho :)
