Can a Rioter explain why Renekton's W was changed to get completely blocked by effects like blind?

Or if it was already explained, may I get a link?

It's not a spell, its technically three autos. so a blind etc should stop it

(Sidenote: Instant TL procs hurt. ;^; )

It all had to do with jax. Stuff like empowered basic attacks such as yasuo's q renekton's w and others are now blocked by blinds, jax's dodge and pantheons passive.

It was for the sake of consistency. I forget which patch, but they wanted on-hit abilities to react uniformly to Pantheon's Passive, Jax's Counterstrike and Blind.

because it counts as an auto attack. which to stay consistent it should be blinded. thats why teemo is renekton hardest counter now. easy as heck lane for teemo. his Q cooldown is a lot lower than renekt W and renekt W is his main source of damage and his only cc

Same goes for Pantheon's shield blocks. He blocks the CC from autoattacks.
