Why is there not a permanent game mode called Team Deathmatch?
I'm not talking about ARAM, that's where you go to get exposure to new champions and practice teamfighting.
I'm talking about a Summoner's Rift version of Team Deathmatch where there are no objectives, maybe even no jungle camps (or they're so strong it's impossible to kill them) and the the objective is not to kill the Nexus but to get kills before the timer runs out or you reach a certain kill threshold, like say, 100 kills for you team.
It's hard to get consistent gameplay where teams are focused on the objectives and killing the Nexus. So often do teamfights break out just because an enemy is spotted on the map, no matter where they are, it's go time... it's basically a Team Deathmatch style of play, so why not just give these players what they want and allow the others who actually play for the Nexus the chance to be paired with other like minded individuals, who are trying to achieve the same goal, as a team.
Personally, to me, this game is a dynamic chess board and I enjoy out strategizing the enemy to claim victory. I don't think I'm the only one with this mindset and I feel like those, like me, are held hostage in countless games due to the Team Deathmatch mindset, especially at lower levels and I suppose ranks.
The fact that there's no open voice chat to join makes it extremely difficult to explain to teammates with that mindset that the objective is not to try and beat down the enemy until they feel like quitting the game (or in turn get beat down yourself) but to kill the towers and nexus.
Is ranked play any better? From the sounds of it, if you lose your first couple games when you first join the Ranked leagues you end up in an MMR range that is filled with players of this mindset. Sure, I guess one could just play a heavy split push style and win the game but that's pretty monotonous.
