The idea of being reported because you don't follow your "riot assigned role" is not right.

Why can't the assigned roles just be suggestions for a smooth teamcomp creation that has everyone on roles they know adequately. Why is this agenda being thrusted on that you have to follow the new system or face the consequences? We get it "huurrr duurr you chose that role"

This isn't an argument supporting people who lock in support/fill for queue purposes and goes "mid or feed" in chat. This for people that say for example selected jungle for their role and see something like a favorable matchup. You chose jungle and were assigned it in champ select. But wait someone on the other team picked Malphite and you know if you played Nasus you would get free stacks and carry the game. Why should I be pigeon holed into that role 100% or risk being banned all together? I'm a higher pick and see a simple way of increasing my chances of winning, I shouldn't be punished for it.

Also am I missing something or is there legit no benefit to being a higher pick? You can't pick any role you want, more often then not you will be set up to being counter picked, and you have no input on bans.

I really want this new system reverted at least for ranked.

Wait what? so you're saying that you go in ranked planning to play jungle (for the sake of your example) but then, you see a pick on the other team that you know you can counterpick and suddenly you get the brilliant idea that you know better than the person who actually picked top on your team and you proceed to invalidate the whole process of matchmaking by forcing another person out of the role that he's good at, then reporting you is unfair because, once again, based on your own ideas, you only did what was best for the game and the team.

There is a word for what you promote and that is: Anarchy, where your freedom steps on everyone else's without any punishment involved. Luckily, Riot understands that this is a team game and having good communication is key not only to win but to earn the minimum respect on an event where 5 people must work together.

To put it simply, the only thing that's at stake here is your word, whether you abide by your own word or not will only talk about who you are.

Also there's a fill option for a reason.

This is a team game. You can ask the top laner if he'll lane swap with you. If he says yes you're fine. If he doesn't, then you have a responsibility to be a good teammate and not troll him. Taking his lane as first pick is just as trolly as taking his lane as last pick.

Then again, who ever gets punished for troll stealing a lane? I've literally never even heard of that happening.

You are free to swap with people if they want to just like you always were.

Think of getting your primary role now as if you had pick priority before, and think of getting your secondary role as if you didn't (except you still have the benefit of choosing that backup, whereas before you could get your worst role).

It's entirely superior and you aren't looking at it the right way.

Ask the top if he's willing to trade, or pick champs from the role you CHOSE that are beneficial to the team.

It just mixes up the same strategy. Its like Bloodthirster used to be the rush item before IE became it. You can adapt.

Yeaaaah.... Come to think of it, this new system completely kills pick order and actively promotes trolling by not having any social stigmas...

I agree with the stiff feeling of not being able to counter pick as much. I guess riot see the ideal queue as one where each member has every champ and the team communication in champ select is very detailed. In that scenario you could pick out of order and have a better chance at getting a more favorable matchup. I also agree that it is sad that you can change your mind last minute that you wan t a different lane based on a matchup.

I wish they had some way for your team to organize the pick order so there would be a better chance for you to counter and not have to worry about picking a champ with many counters first.

There is still trading available guys........... counterpicking isnt dead

Sigh....it's people like you that makes new things a failure, just like how people still can't grasp when our ults free with the new HUD update up.

Ok, I went on a bit of a theoretical trance on my previous comments in here.

It's actually really simple. The responsibility of your team's top lane pick by default is the one who got selected as the top laner by the machine. That's HIS EXPECTATION. It's how the system works. However I actually bet you are entirely open to discuss a non system supported role trade if you get him on board through communication and not get reported. I think it falls under what we'd call being a team player, & not being that douche. If you're a bully tho you'll get what you deserve.

You can't understand everyone on your team having just met them and make decisions for them over them. It's just not considerate of you. Don't think you're getting the intended point of the new system.

If someone is willing to swap with you that's fine if not then stick to your role. If there were no punishments for choosing a role other than the one assigned it would allow trolls to run rampant, it's the same reason that in the old system if you were last pick and chose a role already picked - you were reported and rightfully so.

Anomander1/15/2016, 4:42:50 PM1 votes

This is why you need to pick two roles you will be willing to play. If your not keeping your agreement and are trolling your teammates you deserve to be reported and if you don't reform you deserve a ban. When you queue as two roles you are in a sense creating a contract. You agree to the terms and you need to meet the terms of the agreement

As far as being a higher pick being better it means you are more likely to get your champion over last pick.
