Masteries for Tanks, a shallow pool.
The new masteries really don't have a place for straight tanks. Once you build your style in the "Resolve" column, the rest of the slots don't encompass a meat shield. They almost force you to implement a damage ability to your play-style. I play a lot of Leona, and I almost never have to play a game where i have to fight where I have to become a damage dealer, it's not in a Leona. I make sure that I am a CC monster and absorb as much damage as I can by blocking and interfering with LOS. This new mastery set up almost nullifies half of my set up. It actually doesn't exist anymore. I have lost a good portion of my ability to control matchups with my solid wall of HP and shields, mixed with CC. What the hell... why did you switch to this. AP and AD Carries get all kinds of bonuses, and tanks get all kinds of nerfs. Did you want faster games where only the strong survive, and the abusers win over and over again? I'm not sure if I can continue playing this game with this kind of philosophy. While I agree with making games more playable to the masses, why did you destroy one of your core mechanics? I was writing this as I played a Jinx (a champ and lane i'm currently working on becoming better with) and realized that the core of all lanes is being severely skewed. I'm sure you've thought of many of the scenarios that could detriment the play-style of millions as your database is concerned, but have you really looked at your steadfast components? The ideals and fundamentals that your players rely on for your game to survive? Your recent changes have angered many, have alienated quite a few and made happy a small majority. ... ... Your elite players. What would you do if only your elite players continued to play. The millions that pay your bills, fill your coffers, and paid for your sponsors, just stopped playing.
Consider the game, consider the players. ALL OF THEM.
