How do I rank honor

so I'm like 10 games straight getting 1 honor. occasionally I get two or three. sometimes 4. but man, I have no clue how to get to honor 3. and how come I cant see anyone else's honor level

You aren't meant to reach level 3 honor super fast, it's meant to be a season wide thing with rewards at the end, so progression is slow on purpose even more so if it's just friend honor since theirs means nothing, not saying you do this btw I am just saying in general because it's surprising how many people think they can fly through with friends.

As for not seeing your friends, that I'm not sure about, the reasoning behind hiding it and all. Maybe competitiveness or something like that, just guesses.

I don't have friends to play with. but I know it took me forever to get a banner back in s4, but I just figured it would be easy to get to level 3

Nah they intentionally didn't make it easy so it'd be more of a goal to reach higher tiers. It's a better display of your honor in my opinion when it's harder to get! Too easy and it's not a good representation of your honor, whereas if it's more difficult and requires more honor then it shows.
