How does Knight's Vow interact with champions like Thresh, Ivern or Kayle?

Hi all,

Does anyone know whether the damage reduction and redirection for Knight's Vow is 12% or 6% for champions like Ivern, Thresh, and Kayle, etc? I'm confused about whether Thresh is considered ranged or melee, and though Ivern and Kayle is melee at the beginning of the game, their kit/passive grants them more range. Does this mean that Ivern and Kayle loses the benefit (12% --> 6%) once they level up? Here is the description for Knight's Vow's unique passive:

"Unique: While within 1000 range of your Partner, heal for 12% of the damage your Partner deals to champions and redirect 12% of the damage your Partner takes from champions (after reductions) to you as true damage. Both effects are reduced to 6% if the item holder is ranged."

Thanks for your help!

Hello there friend

Just like item 3074 item 3748 item 3302 Kayle Once she turns ranged, shes ranged. No longer melee. So item 3109 gets the reduced passive.

Thresh Ranged.

Ivern I'm actually not sure. However I believe if he uses bush range hes ranged. As I believe the "ranged" passive on these items classify after a certain # of range (modifier?)

item 3094 Pretty sure if you put this on certain melees it would make it so the passive would be reduced during the 1 auto you get of longer range.

Thresh cannot execute minions with relic shield so that should tell you that he is a ranged champion. Pretty sure Ivern is only ranged while under the effects of whatever his brush ability is and Kayle is considered ranged as soon as she gets ranged (at least I'm 99% certain that's the case).

Heck using the first example just try out and see if you get the execute with relic shield or not with any champions you aren't sure about whether they are considered ranged or not. That should clear any doubts you could have.

Thanks for your explanation! I couldn't find out because I don't have enough IP to buy Ivern and Thresh yet. XD
