Can't Play Flex Queue with my friends

Eventhough we don't have a single game played in flex queue at all this season, we somehow can't seem to play a game of ranked flex when we are with 5 man. This is because the game thinks the rank difference between every player is too high. Does anyone know how we can fix this, or if this is a problem that Riot themselves need to fix?
