Heyho, So i just made it to gold 5 and ofc because season will end soon it would be more than a shame to demote now. but i as i was looking up if theres any kind of protection for that i found the demotion shield.. where this little triangle pops off above ur rank in client. i did also read that u just got that one time a season. i remember i was stuck long time at s5 0lp with a losing streak and demoted to bronze again. So my question is do i still have the shield now if i will lose some games on g5 0lp now or did i alrdy had to use it when demoting from silver to rbonze at the start of the season?

thx for any helpful answer :)

Shield is per promotion, so if you just got promoted to G5, you have 10 games in which you can't be demoted.

It's important to note that's 10 games, not 10 losses at 0LP though. If you win 5 games and lose 5 games, and then lose another game at 0LP, it's possible to be demoted if your MMR is bad enough, since you'd have used up your 10 games of protection.

That said, it's really hard to be demoted from tiers, as your MMR needs to be waaay lower than expected (as in you'd need to be playing against silver 5's despite being gold 5 kind of MMR), so as long as you legitimately earned G5, then I wouldn't worry about being demoted.
