QoL Suggestion: Avarice Blade

I've noticed recently that I'm actively avoiding upgrading to a Statikk Shiv while I'm dead. Why? Because GP10 from Avarice Blade is still active before I respawn, but a Shiv (or any other Avarice Blade upgrade, for that matter) has no such passive benefit. So rather than immediately reevaluating my items and planning my next move into the field, I sit there waiting for my death timer to hit 0 and then start that respawn process as I'm walking out of the fountain, all so I can maximize the amount of gold I get out of Avarice Blade. A big deal? Not really. But it is a bit of an inconvenience.

So, suggestion! When you upgrade Avarice Blade, you gain a buff that grants you the same GP10 passive. The duration of the buff is equal to your death timer at the time of upgrade. This would mean a 0 second buff while you're alive. This maintains all of the current benefits and balances of Avarice Blade and its upgrades, without requiring players to min/max these items through the shop interface.

I believe implementation would be mostly straightforward, and such a change would fall in line with Riot's "Fight other players, don't fight the game" philosophy. The only aspect I would expect to be any level of challenging would be making sure it functions properly with the Undo functionality in the shop.

Thoughts?

It's not a bad idea, but it's just so minor... if this would be an easy change, I would be happy to see it, but I wouldn't want Riot to expend anything more than the most minimal amount of time/resources.

I don't really disagree, which is why I marked it as quality of life. Ultimately, that's Riot's call. Just wanted to get the idea out there :)

Why isn't it just included in the final item?

What do you mean? Are you suggesting that Statikk Shiv and the other upgrades should have GP10 on them? That would certainly be a solution, but it would bring up a matter of balance. GP10 has a history of being particularly strong when combined with farming, and especially since the Avarice Blade GP10 stacks with the support line of GP10 items. That's not to say they should or shouldn't do it, but going that direction makes it more than a simple quality of life idea.

I mean, if you can point out another item that loses its passive when you combine it, I'll be quiet. Its kinda dumb how pretty much the only reason you would buy avarice blade separate from it being needed to combine an item, is for its GP10.

The Spectre's Cowl passive goes away when you make it into a Spirit Visage. Seeker's Armguard passive goes away when you make it into anything.

I don't think you need to be quiet, btw, I just thought I'd mention a couple other ones that I had noticed.

The thing is their passives are replaced by better ones. Seeker's arm guard gets higher defense when built into Zhonya's. Spectre's cowl either gives higher HP/5 base on Banshee's Veil or 20% higher regen on Spirit Visage. As it is now nothing resembling Avarice is gained in static shiv other than the crit increase.

Yeah, and like someone else mentioned, they get replaced by better passives that are similar, and avarice's passive dissapears.

Avarice blade honestly should just be removed from the game, IMO. It's the only Season 3 style GP5 item left, and champions who are already farming don't need bonus gold unless it's built into their kit.

I miss Heart of Gold... Honestly I miss Good Gold gen items in general.

Just think if there was a item 3084 but granted extra gold on kill rather then health back :p -or- An Exlir "Midas Touch" that Slowed and granted say 5-10g on Basic Attacks on Enemy Champ.
