Help learning to jungle

HolygunIL·7/19/2017, 2:28:34 PM·1 votes·973 views

Hey guys! looking for a champ that will help me to learn how to jungle. I'm Silver 5 at eune and currently play mostly mid (azir and liss) or support (taric) and sometimes top (jayce). I can't seem to jungle correctly. I tried several champs including: rek'sai, shyvana, nunu, master yi and i always mess up the game.

any advice on a good champion and any other advice to learn this role?

thank you!

honesty nunu is the easiest to learn. if you're looking for someone more fun try Nautilus. the item 2032 helps alot on your first buy too. having the item 1041 with item 1039 with the hunters potion first back is the most important just to stay in the jungle as long as possible. attack speed and armor is very important for runes. also knowing when to smite is key. grump and big golem are worth smites, wraiths and doggos aren't as much.

If you want a very forgiving jungler, play master yi.

You can feed on him, and still wreck face which is the beauty of him, as well as his simple execution. However he has the possibility to have a SUPER high skill cap if played correctly (like using W to reset autos and to reduce damage in a split second.)

Get Bloodrazor (Warrior for the on hit true damage as well as slow), Botrk, Berserkers Greaves, Guinsoos, then two tank items. This build gives you late game survivability as well as high tank killing potential.

Start with leash at raptors with Q. Then get E and take red. You don't really need to smite red unless you are afraid that your blue is under attack. Then take blue and get W. Max Q, E, W.

For ganking, you don't really provide anything but damage, so focus solely on attacking the enemy laner. Lanes where enemies are pushed up are really easy to gank.

Start by using your Warrior smite. This ensures a slow on your next attack as well as May force flashes. Then engage with Q. Activate E at the end of the Q duration and keep attacking. This should be enough to get kills early on, or at least force the enemy out of lane. Once you have ult, just add ult to the beginning of the "combo".

In early 1v1s it is VERY important to use your W correctly. It not only is a heal, but also a damage reduction (70% at max rank). Let's say lux has snared you. Just activate W and laugh at the amount of damage she deals to you, then proceed with the previous combo.

Playing Yi does take some practice, but once you've got the hang of it you can destroy your enemies.

Warwick. Very forgiving clear and easy ganks

Xin Zhao is another good carry jungler. His survival ability is high and has good engage/knock up. The best piece of advice i can give is to keep moving and always watch your map. You need to clear camps quickly, keep buffs active, and pressure lanes. Always watch your map to see where you should be heading.

Also,

Ward, WArd, WARd, WARD, WARD!!!!

Jungling is the most difficult role in the game because it requires the most contribution from the player. Sure, you don't need to be good at last hitting but you do need to have knowledge of several other things such as:

  1. Your damage output (so that you can safely clear the jungle without risk of being executed by one of the camps).
  2. The location of the enemy jungler (so that you can track their movements).
  3. Gank paths (so that you can choose the most efficient way to gank for your lanes).
  4. Clear paths (so that you can maximize your time in the jungle and make it as gold efficient as possible).

You also need to have mechanical skill in order to assist your teammates during ganks. Lastly, you need to have a plan for objective control (which includes getting vision/clearing enemy vision on objectives, controlling jungle buffs, managing summoner spell cooldowns for the enemy team, efficient rotations to control the minion waves, etc.). It takes the most time to learn how to become a good jungler, especially because you need to rely on your team in the early game to not feed while you're implementing your plans.

I'd probably say the most well-rounded jungler at the moment is Zac.

step 1. look up the jungle routes and print out a lil' paper map so you know where generally to go. step 2. pick a set of easy champions that can jungle well. my favorite triumverate are amumu for tanks, fiddles for ap, and warwick for ad. you can also go zac as his clear is incredible and sustainable but amumu is far more consistent when learning the jungle tanks with his ult. step 3. practice the hell out of these in solo and bot games (try to get leashes) step 4. find your style, do you like to farm up til you get items and carry the team, get them ahead with lots of ganks or keep your enemy jungler in the pits by stealing all his camps? they all work and different people will hate you for each style. step 5. accept that it's all your fault. if you ganked and failed it's your fault, if you ganked and got the kill it's your fault. if you ganked and your laner died it's your fault. if you weren't there and the laner died it's your fault. if they got objectives and dragons it's your fault. if you didn't gank enough it's your fault. if you spent too much time ganking and lost farm it's your fault. step 6. learn to love your mobi boots. you can't be everywhere at once but you sure can try.

Taric can now viably support with his changes to his Q. His clear is comparable to a lot of junglers and his sustain is just crazy.

Start item 1041 item 1004 Q at level 1, E at 2, W at 3 then level E > Q > W

Try to get item 3706 item 3070 first back

My build is generally item 1402 item 3748 item 3025 item 3004 item 3065

His ganks are pretty strong but his counter ganking is where it is at. If you can get some wards in the enemy jungle to see where their jungler is at and counter gank, you can win almost any 2v2.

After you get item 1402 item 3025 item 3748 item 3070 item 1033 you are able to solo Baron. This is only the case if you are fed and have this build by around 30 minutes though. Anything after that and you will need Spirit Visage to do it.

You can solo dragon pretty much whenever you want after first back. Only do this if you have a control ward in the pit so you know the enemy doesn't see you doing it though.

Do not give away any blue buffs until you have item 1402 .
