Currently, I'm Plat V, I stopped playing ranked before the season ended because I was on a massive loss streak and wanted to stay in Plat. I'm still Plat, and if I drop back into Gold during preseason, will it effect anything? I don't believe it will. But I wanted to clarify.

Once the season ends then your rewards are set in stone (with the minor exception for a match you queued up for just before Ranked went down).
You can still play Ranked as usual during preseason but it won't affect your rewards. What it will affect is your MMR, which determines your placement for next season; so if you want a better placement you can work for a higher MMR, but you can hurt it too.
Anything you gain or lose at this point will only affect where you start out next season after the soft reset. You won't suddenly see your plat border revert to gold if you drop down to gold at this point.
