League less fun now?
TLDR: Is league more snowbally, less balanced, and less champion diverse than it used to be?
Ive played league for several seasons. Ive reached diamond in a couple, as well as plat, gold, etc. Im an experienced player. Ive played in the full spectrum of divisions in the past at one point or another. Pretty much the game was always fun no matter how good I was or at what rating. Some games suck(feeders, ragers, etc) but generally it was a positive experience. In the last few weeks since the new season started however, the game seems oddly less fun. Ive found myself playing other mobas (hots, dota) instead and having more fun. Its reached the point where Im pretty much done with league completely. Ive been trying to figure out what the difference seems to be compared to the past and other mobas and heres a few things Ive noticed. Im currently around gold/plat mmr for a reference, but Ive noticed similar things when playing on my lower account.
Heres a few issues Ive noticed:
Champion upside/downsides and diversity: Riot doesnt seem to have a good grasp on these factors when balancing champs. Take the current adcs seeing play for example. Pretty much every game I play the two adcs are Lucian and Ezreal. Rarely anything else. Why is this? Mostly I would argue that gap-closers having gotten absolutely obnoxious in league. Being able to decide which fights you can run from and join in is an invaluable ability. Gap closers in general are fine, but they need balance with damage and utility. Why does Lucian have some of the most damage and a safe ranged ult as well? In other mobas mobility and utility are balanced with damage. The least mobile champ should be the highest damage, or have an amazing cc. Or something along these lines. It may be true kogmaw has the most damage, but its not enough to compensate for for zero mobility. More than half the adcs rarely see play. And dont even get me started on the worthless Jhin. You could probably give him 30% more damage across the board and hed still be mediocre. This same problem exists in other lanes as well, especially jungle. Why, for example, does Elise(lee sin, reksai, nid are similar as well) have the fastest clear time, ranged stun, gap closer, turret dodging, and probably the highest burst in the jungle? It makes sense a champ like udyr or shyv clears fast and hard as they dont do much else, but why can these insane gankers as well? Meanwhile other much less viable junglers can barely clear and are totally irrelevant (maokai, j4, noc, etc) This lack of diversity in viable champs leads to boring games and a feeling of inbalance especially when playing champs that arent currently the strongest. I feel like if Im not picking one of the four viable champs Im gimping myself right from the start. It doesnt matter how many champs riot makes if only 4 of them are worth anything.
Assassins and snowballing: Theres too many and they are too strong. Plain and simple. That and they are little fun to play against and nearly always decide the game. Im sure you all have played the games where your mid is zed vs fizz or talon vs leblanc. Top is riven vs fiora. Jungle is nid vs elise. The matchups go on, but the point is these champs all snowball insanely hard. A firstblood for a good zed player (and all these other champs) can easily decide game. They start one shotting everything and on top of that most have insane outs making them tough to gank and catch up. It really feels like the majority of my games end up 20 to 5 one way or another, most of the time decided by the assassin lanes. I know we all like watching sick korean zed plays but come on. I think most players would agree the game simply feels less fun when all these high-mobility-kill-you-in-one-hit champs are in the game.
Dynamic queue: I get my role even less than I used to. It takes 20 minutes to find a game. Getting paired against premades is stupid. Can we at least drop the troll "select what champ you want to play" screen?
I believe these are the main things that seem to make league less enjoyable (and more stressful) to play currently. I also believe theres still a huge issue with overall snowballing that leads to slow, map control deaths (especially at high level play) but thats a different more complicated issue. Id be interested to hear if anyone is having a similar experience or if maybe Im just crazy.

) who pretty much didnt need a
or
to substain in lane. They nerfed that and Death fire touch on
were too strong due to ramp up damage being too high now thats nerfs now we see even
taking thunderlords and that tells you something. Like every champ no matter what role, takes TLD and ill admit i like it on champs like
sometimes
..Fevor of battle too is still a strong mastery and it had to be changed since you can stack it on minnions and just beat the laner doing a butt ton of damage :X. and some of the underdogs like
are coming back up.. All these patches were for only assassins and assassins only. The tier 2 mastery on cunning assassin is ment for assassins to do 2% more damage when alone, now we have
adding on to it .. Talon will be the biggest threat with this and the mastery on the ferocity page increasing his damage on movement imparred targets by 1.5%. With his passive and everything Talon once he gets that item basically instagibs you just by getting close :X and you cant QSS his burst .
who can deal with these assassins normally and burst them before they get bursted or be able to defend themselves. Like riot still trying to work with mages but only buffing AD makes them almost unplayable. I just hope mages get something for a few patches because its League of assassins / thunderlords .
x2 and you pretty much one shotting dudes XD. Pretty funny first two kills, then it gets a bit scary. Then they do the same thing to you, and you tell your self "this is why it stopped being funny".
