I Suck At League

Hi. I have played LoL a bit, not as much as a year or something huge like that, but enough to make you think i'm somewhat good at this game. I am certainly not. I just hit level 17 this afternoon, and i got 4/3/0 as top Tryndamere. That might be okay to a general perspective, but it was in a beginner bot game. You read right, a beginner bot game. In this game i realised something. I'm just really sh bad at league. My friend, of whom i know in person, also agrees i'm bad at LoL. But he doesn't say "Oh, dude, you aren't that good at League, let me help you" He says "DUDE U SUK SO BAD LMAOOOO GET A LIFE" And, naturally, he's a Yasuo and a wood player. I want to be a Jungle main, and i'm okay in the case of clearing and stuff like that, but ganking? Unless i'm going against a team made of Yoricks, i will get destroyed. And on the other hand, I try ADC, but i'm just much worse when it comes to that. Let's take a look at my latest PVP victory. 11/20/9. Let that sink in. Here's a list of things I know I do wrong, but can't seem to stop.

  1. Tower diving
  2. Not learning from my mistakes
  3. and General greediness which ends up with me 2/7/1

I can't seem to find a friend who actually helps me with my problems and builds on how to help them (and i have a lot of friends at school) and the one that does help me with this stuff and isn't toxic doesn't go on League much. Please, someone help me with this problem, i'm starting to get a bit angry at myself at the moment.

Well you know your weakness so improve on them. Dude you're level 17 you still have a long way to go and lots to learn. Hell im level 30 and been playing since November 2015 and I'm still garba- learning things.

It doesn't suddenly come, also your friend sounds like a dick, ignore him xP

By admitting you are bad you are automatically better than half of all league players... thumbs up.

People that think they are good will not improve.

You can consider choosing champions that are not mechainically difficult and then focus on your positioning and "marco play", which is taking towers dragons and barons that allows your team to win.

For example I just can't play champions like Elise and Nidalee because I get my fingers in a tangle trying to use so many abilities. Give me someone like Maokai and Nautilus and now I can focus on either protecting my carries or locking down thiers (depending on what my team requires) without having to use up brain power just using my champion. By doing that I can focus on fight positioning and marco play rather than mechanics.

Mechanics: using the champion and thier abilities well Tactics: That is positioning in a fight, but also things like target selection and if you want to peel or dive. Stratgey: Macro play, taking objectives towards winning the game. thinking about what your team will need to do to win the game.

I know that I am actually bad at mechanics but good at stratgey and medium (and improving) with tactics. As such I try to pick champions which help me use my strenghts while covering my weaknesses.

Jungling is a deeply Stratigic role, whille support is a very tactical role with some strategy (since you have time to type in chat to help organise a team) some supports need more mechanics than others, it is a good option for people that aren't the best mechanically.

If you want to jungle I'd focus on learning to be strategic not nessairly about being the best mechanical player.

The learning curve is steep. It's expected that you don't know much at level 17; I remember asking my friend how the hell he knows what champion goes in what lane, because I couldn't see what the "Meta" was. I recommend watching high tier players on Twitch and pros in the LCS (Worlds is coming up) and reading guides for your role and champions. Try to master few champions, but don't hesitate to branch out and see what else there is.

There are great guides out there for Jungle. I recommend watching Nightblue3 on Twitch, as he exclusively teaches Jungling at a very high level.

Hi, Im a diamond player with 3 diamond smurf accounts and I've been playing since season 1. I could teach you a thing or two about the game. if you want since I've done coaching several times in the past seasons. Sure, the other people who posted responses are saying thar you should take it easy since you're lvl 17. HOWEVER, my opinion is that you SHOULD learn the RIGHT way to play league now. As you play more league of legends, you will build up habits, some which are going to be very bad and hard to break out of. The earlier you realize this and fix it, the better off you will be in the long run. I play on the NA server btw.
