Why not let Towers do True Damage? Or maybe let them change to True after reaching max damage?

Making towers stronger might make
get bought in ANY game. It sure would be interesting to see the diver item actually being used for dives instead of just stacking tank stats and taking the turret tickles while jungle/mid jacks the guy up under turret.
Also raises skill needed for diving so things like kayn redirecting turret aggro after he gets low or fizz using e when he actually needs it will be punishable but at the same time it will be rewarding if you're good at it.
I think towers should start out super strong and punish people, but then get weaker over the game to where they do. I dont mind a tank at 30 minutes going afk under one for 10 (they can tank a lot more though) shots, but I do care when they take 5 or 6 at 7 minutes

No, make it so they do half physical and half magic damage. It makes it so building MR doesn't make you worthless for turret damage as a tank while also making it so you can't just stack armor and expect to sit under it forever.
I see alot of people bitching about tanks being able to take ten shot when the reality of it is that they are the ones that should be able to. Realistically there should be more armor pen and less damage on turrets so that tanks aren't hit ass hard but Squishies are basically taking true damage if they take too many shots.

I like when a tower dive takes advantage of a champion's kit in a clever way: Elise Rappel, Tristana/Kha'Zix jump, etc...
It seems less appropriate for a tank to be able to stand there and absorb 7 tower shots while his teammate kills the enemy with no repercussions.
Yeah, then games would last for hours because you can't dive. Champions like Alistar would be rendered useless.
I'd like to see them have two or three abilities to make them more interesting. Like it could fire lasers that slow and do magic damage, could even be a ring around the outer edge so melees don't get punished any differently. Or build up a shield (or give allied champs a shield) for each minion it eats or when a allied minion dies within a certain range of the tower. Or rapid firing alternating damage type shots so you can't just stack armor and be protected. There are a lot of ways they could make them more interesting. Confetti filled shots that explode when they tag you. Or pull a jhin and have it autocrit every 4th shot in a row, or put a stun/root/knockup or knockback.
The outer towers could be boring towers and the inner ones progressively more fun.
I'm all for making turrets do true damage, and then hit multiple targets with laser beams.
Turrets are supposed to protect you, and be a safe point for your team. The fact that X champion can just pop you from full health and walk away, and that tanks can eat multiple hits while roamers eat you under turret, is ridiculous. Even more so without Ohmwrecker, an item specifically designed for diving.
So people can't turtle under them all game

Because then Ziggs, Xerath, Viktor, Anivia, and Vel'koz would be the meta. Tower dives would be useless, you would never be able to push lanes and damage towers, and over all the game would slow down in a way absolutely nobody would like.
Or just give them massive percent BONUS armor pen, which hurts tanks and barely a squishy.

Really unpopular opinion but I rather this be the case:
I don't think towers should do true damage.
Instead, towers should do less damage early game. In the later games, autos shred armour up to 50%.
Really shouldn't stay under tower if you see people roaming top to kill you. And if you didn't know, then that's your fault for not warding or backing off the turret.
When the towers become too strong, then the game stagnates.
IDC what they do i'd just like to beable to rely on towers to stay alive.
I'm ok with tanks being able to soak the damage, what we need Is turrets to be actually defendable we need a buff to turrets when they are being defended by allies and turrets to actually protect you well late game so enemies can't just run you over taking a bunch of shots get an ace and then finish the turret
Let's keep the current turret damage but make it so each shot also does X% of target's max health in true damage. Sort of like a true damage BotRK just for turrets! This will damage squishies reasonably well while punishing high health divers.
Towers need to be "smarter". When the half-health diver is killing you under tower, it should switch aggro to them.
A lot of people keep suggesting true damage to improve the Turret's damage output. After all, minions won't take more damage with the way turrets deal percentage health damage against them, right? The reality is that that's not a viable solution; since all it does is change armor stacking to health stacking, and it punishes tanks much more than the squishy troublemakers. Tanks are the ones we want turret diving, because they are ideally the ones that can't kill you under turret. Unlike the squishy troublemakers.
This has come up way too often for my liking. True damage on turrets is an unhealthy idea. Period.
